Finishing the game with all the Windoms does make sense, since 2000SP1 was the last Windom I beat arcade mode with.

Anyway if you do not have enough weapon bar... you usually perform the attack anyway, and the weapon gauge goes down. But nothing happens. But I assure you that Primula's fire orbs can definitely go up to 4 in number. Electric orbs are stuck at 3 though.

Blackcomb does seem to be able to block physical attacks now. No idea in ranged mode, but against the computer, I've definitely seem a type of block where it crosses its swords in front of it. I really don't have any clue how to use that block though.... doesn't seem like you can hound Blackcomb with melee and physical all that much anymore though. Its still fun to abuse the blockless Anthurium with constant attacks though.

You can now block solid and close ranged attacks for Blackcomb.
While doing the reflect stance (pressing guard button), press the Subweapon 3 button (superlaser) to block solid/close range attacks.

Notice that when Blackcomb is attacked in close range while blocking (not reflecting), the combo doesn't stop halfway and continues to execute, but no damage is dealt.

Difficulty doesn't affect unlocking.

Black Selena unlocks Cymbidium
Cymbidium unlocks Primula
Primula unlocks nothing

2K unlocks 2000
2000 unlocks Vienna.
Vienna unlocks nothing.

Iris unlocks Anthurium
Anthurium unlocks nothing

Vista unlocks Blackcomb
Blackcomb unlocks nothing

XP unlocks XP Type B
Type B unlocks SP3
SP3 unlocks nothing.

I suppose the MS-98s unlocks more MS-98 variants and Millenium types. I'm guessing( I don't feel like playing them grunts yet, so someone confirm)
MS-98 unlocks Millennium
Millennium unlocks Millennium R
R unlocks the B
MS-98 -> Millennium
Millennium -> Millennium-R
Millennium-R -> Millennium-B
Millennium-B -> Nothing

Windom XP -> Windom XP Type-B
Windom XP Type-B -> Windom XP SP3
Windom XP SP3 -> Nothing
Windom Vista -> Windom BlackComb
Windom 2K -> Windom 2000 SP1
Windom 2000 SP1 -> Nothing
Windom BlackComb -> Nothing
All Other Windoms -> Windom Vienna
Windom Vienna -> Nothing

Linux BlackSelena -> Linux Cymbidium
Linux Iris -> Linux Anthurium
Linux Cymbidium -> Nothing
Linux Anthurium -> Nothing
All Other Linux -> Linux Primula
Linux Primula -> Nothing
All other Windom -> Vienna...

Does that mean I have to do them all, or is it chance?

You have to "do them all". :oops:

Clear arcade mode with all the Windoms to unlock Vienna.

For the sake of completion... yes.
You can unlock mechs in any difficulty anyway, so do it in easy mode for quick clearing

Online

Unread post by Lowell » January 24th, 2009, 5:51 pm

So I tried a few rounds online with 3 AI's and have to say it seems to work better. Though no other players are online yet, I think it will handle at least six before lag becomes noticeable.

If your up for a round then grab the Wormhole server and PM me on my MSN :3
Gonna try a full roster now
Edit:
Surprisingly it didn't lag at all, although I was getting hit from every which way after a kill or two

Please note that when a laser (not thunder) crazy ball activates and you're passing through it, you die very quickly. Mother of FUCK.

Edit: Man, there has GOT to be a faster way to delete all those B, C, and D items than one by one. I've got 434 items, and about 75 of them worth keeping.

You dont have to do them all. At least I'm quite sure the linuxes and millenium sets arent needed. A general guide is sp3 and sp1, plus a few more, although i don't quite remember. Well, its only 17 mechs in total though, so might as well get them all (for the record, there IS a mech numbered 0 :!: )

By the way, do note that blackcomb's new block loses its ability to deflect beams. It still makes blackcomb a much harder opponent to take advantage of though.

Also posting some new info. Generally speaking, any mecha that does not use a beam saber now has a special move, be it down+melee or left+melee. [A referring to the first special attack, like sp3's shield throw]

Vienna: Down+melee then A.
Trips enemy, steps on them and empties his guns into the poor thing.

SP3: Down+Melee then A
Drives them up then drives them down. Timing is pretty demanding though. Some people have said that it doesn't work if you are dashing towards them.

Type-B: Left+melee
picks the enemy up with his cannon (hell if i know how he does that) and then fires.

Cymbidium: Up+melee then A, Up + melee then D [Second special attack, the jump]
stabs then fires a arrow. My friends have confirmed it exists, but up till this point of time i have only manged to sucessfully use it once, probably because i cant figure out the timing. By the way, down+second special attack now becomes jump down.

Iris: down+melee
Transfers all crystals to your teammate. If you have more than one teammate, i dont think it transfers equally, but i don't notice that much.

Also, I'll add a small troubleshooting guide here for people having trouble during installation.

Q1. When i click the setup.exe, it says "unexpected error".

A: Rename the folders your setup.exe is located in, if they are in Japanese, to English. Both of them. Your computer basically doesnt recognize japanese.

Q2. I can't play online!

A: http://tinyurl.com/alhzg6

Download all 5 patches. At the end of the patch, your application title should say "Ultimate knight windom XP ver. 1.005 (as of time of writing)". If it isn't so, you patched in the wrong place. For server hosters, there is a notice that tells you when a unpatched person is trying to enter.

Q3: I can't read the japanese!

Realistically this doesn't really matter, but if you just want to read japanese,

1. Change your system locale to Japanese
2. Download a application called applocale.

The second way is way easier since it just changes for the application. For details, please google. Im sure there are tons of guides on how to configure it for similar games.

They're items. You just have to find them. I've got most of them, but it's a BITCH getting them ALL. And I'm so sick of getting B/C/D items. Worthless.

You don't even need all five. The latest alone will do.

Random. I also accidentally deleted two special S-Ranks. :P They both had 4 stats above 20.

Holy crap! Having your S-ranked items deleted must suck...and by your own hands?

But then, those items won't be able to be used in multiplayer, so it is not THAT bad...

No, they do. You can turn them on or off. There's two options that have ON/OFF states, one is chat during the match, and one is items.

Edit: Apparently, if you pick up Anthurium while it's using it's super laser with Whistler B's grab, it continues shooting the beam.
