How I can translate images in the game?

Unread postby Mistral » February 25th, 2017, 4:30 pm

Hello, I'm trying translate Utawarerumono into Russian language.
I somehow managed edit dialog texts through hex-editor and some manipulations with font ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), but i don't know how i can edit images.
Can someone help me with that?
May I translate it to Russian language? I will keep your License!
please reply me! -(・ω・)- -(ω・...)- -(・....)- -(........)- -(....・)- -(...・ω)- -(・ω・)-

Hi, sorry for taking so long to reply.
I only worked on the copy protection and text insertion parts of the project and many of the old group members have left to do other things, so I'm not sure how the images were added to the English patch. But they can be extracted using programs such as Susie or ExtractData with some plugins.

Here are some download links to these programs:

Susie: https://www.digitalpad.co.jp/~takechin/
Leaf Susie Plug-in: http://elksimple.web.fc2.com/other.html
px2bmp: http://elksimple.web.fc2.com/other.html#px2bmp
ExtractData: https://tlwiki.org/?title=Tools#ExtractData

I haven't used these programs in a long time, so I can't remember if they allow extracting images with transparencies, but it might be possible to do if you use the Leaf Susie Plug-in and the px2bmp plug-in with ExtractData to extract the images. You might need to ask around on IRC in channels like #tlwiki on Rizon to see if anyone can make a tool for you to repack the images back into the game files.

Thank you very much!

(╮°-°)╮┳━━┳ after that i take my table ( ╯°□°)╯ ┻━━┻ and go party hard))))
Oh thank you again with your help I now can translate game properly ( ╯°▼°)╯

But now i just can edit text better...
I can pull out images with Susie and i have repacker, but i can't edit images...((((
That Extractor with px2bmp can save it as bmp, but how can i do it reverse? (I don't find bmp2px.exe or something like that :P )

There is some program that can edit .px images?

I don't know of any programs that can edit or convert files back into *.px files. You'll need to find someone who can make some tools for you to edit them and put them back into the game. You might be able to find someone in #tlwiki on Rizon or maybe on the Fuwanovel forums: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/
