So.... what's the deal? Is Funimation just reprinting the show with same voice overs that Geneon had done or are they redoing the voice overs? If they are redubbing the show then screw that. I HATE funimation. They are slowing becoming the anime monopoly in the states it seems. The only show I think they did well with their voice overs was FMA.

I'm staring at that box right now
.No credits to Funimation though (Aus version release). Thank god for that.

Geneon rocked with S-Cry-Ed Dub....
although i have to say the Dub for fate is pretty good. My personal opinion... The only good dubs i know of are Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Full Metal Alchemist. I have to say, they did good dubbing it
and yes, it is proclaimed that "people die when they are killed"
its a Rofl moment in the series (also some fights scenes are epic. The Shiro vs Kuzuki fight is pretty amazing, so is Saber vs assasin. They also do a good job with shiros tracing, it feels very similar to the novel. Overall the fate/stay night anime did a very decent job. Dub was nice, and you get to see the reason why GAR was invented as a term (Archer vs Berserker Fate Route)
They also include Heavens Feel and UBW sections into it very well. Almost cover archers hidden identity (hinted rin knew about it all along) covers the whole thing about sakura, and covers a dragon eating shiros arm (For the fate mana restore scene...)
overall they did pretty good with the anime, its a must watch in life

Anime-wise, it's a good one.
Adaptation-wise, it's a bad one. Lacks "feeling" as a representation of the original, some good scenes are ruined ("that which cannot be surrendered" etc..) and Servants have sub-par effects that didn't really show their real skills (they are faster and stronger as the anime shows them, and that's one of the reasons why some people underestimate Servants).
But even so, it's a good anime that lead people to find about the visual novel and Nasuverse.

Well I have heard a lot of dubs and horrible voice acting. While I don't think it is the best, there are far FAR worse, so it is acceptable. Yeah, Funimation scored big when Geneon pulled out of the U.S. Market. I am happy that they are releasing another Fate/Stay DVD Set even it is the same (More Fate fans the better), I can't say Funimation does everything right, but I can't complain when they picked up Hellsing Ultimate as well
So they'll probably get my money some more.
Agreed.Raitei wrote:can't say any truer than this...Kansho wrote:As an anime, it's a good one.
