How to control plane mode?

Unread postby imagelesskink » August 7th, 2008, 4:12 pm

Whenever I transform, the plane can only go downwards. Is there any way to control the plane so it doesn't automatically dive-bomb?

(The image is 3200 x 480)

Well, good luck on maneuvering the jet or plane  .

Thanks for showing me how to control the Rube Goldberg plane. Why not just control it with up/down? That makes more sense to me.

Because those buttons are already mapped to controls - namely, going forwards and backwards.

Planes go backwards? Isn't that physically impossible? (well, at least impossible to do that and not make it drop like a rock)

Here's the picture if you can't test it in the game. :?

Going forward...

And by going "back," he means this...

at that same time, you dont have to hold z or v as long as you are holding one or more of the direction buttons.

Yep. Here's a simple but detailed way to do it: 8)

1. Do a Boost Dash (TAP "Z" twice).
 No need to hold "Z" if you hold the directional buttons.

2. While boosting, transform (TAP "V" button)
:!: Holding Z after transformation will immediately move your plane UP
:!: Holding V after transformation will immediately move your plane down
 So if you want a steady flight, just hold on to any of the directional buttons

3. Control with the directional buttons (Moves forward/backward/left/right) and Z/V buttons (Moves up/down)
 Yes, pressing back will make the plane move backwards. It takes a short "delay time" to turn though.

NOTE: You can maintain transformed boost AS LONG AS
 One of the controls involved in BOOST DASHING/TRANSFORMING is held (directional buttons/Z button/V button)
 You have enough Generator gauge to fly. Obviously.
 You are not hit by any enemy fire. Pretty Obvious!

Understand? :?:

Plane mode in bootfighter is merely your unit going faster in the direction you are holding while holding an altitude that you set yourself. The controls arent like that of a plane, but more of you telling your unit to go in a certain direction from your point of view using the arrow keys and using the JUMP/BOOST button to raise altitude and using the SHIELD button to go down.

also ryujin can you set that large image up there as a thumbnail, the size screws up the boards...

Experience is the best teacher.

Now the real question is, "were you able to do it?" :?:
