If you don't have a joystick/gamepad you can't do that, unless you use this joystick emulator:

I tried that program. You can't put the keys on the numpad, and thus you still have to reach over eachothers hands when playing 1v1 ~~

You can, did you remember to enable numlock? I know since i use it in all fighting games i can configure.

I don't think it's possible. The game assumes you're using a gamepad, but that doesn't mean it disables the keyboard.

I once had one, but in all honesty i'd pick a keyboard over a gamepad any day. Perhaps cause it's the thing i'm most comfortable with.

I have a game-pad acctualy, and that's still kinda overkill since I only use it for one game :P

Sadly, I don't know how to set it to be "game pad 2"
If this is possible somehow it'd be cool if someone could tell me. The player 2 controls aren't the best ~~

I've learned for a friend how to hold controls properly. It looks stupid as hell, but you can punch in combos like nobody's business! You don't press the buttons with your thumb, you use the three middle fingers : D

Agh! Now you got me all confused ~~

Most of the time I play with the keyboard since I have my iPod cable in the second usb-port and don't feel like unplugging it most of the time. And yes, it's nice to play with the keyboard, but you can do much more advanced stuff with a control. And that's a fact, not an opinion.

There's some crazy timing to deal with if you want to do certain things. Timing that just comes better with a keyboard, since you don't have 1 finger pushing 4 buttons, more like 4 fingers ready to push each button any time. 2p controls are shit tho, I used autohotkey and made a script to bind IOP[ to ZXCV so I can play very similarly to wasd jkl;. If you want it.

Just a heads up, I didn't seem to be able to rebind movement keys with AutoHotKey, just the attacks. I saved a program that claimed to edit the keyboard controls from within the executable. Here ya go if you want to try it out.

Thank you so much Ciel for linking the program and Mathias for giving me a template to follow for setting controls. This'll help me so much as I don't have to learn to use a pad or stick.

I've found that you get better precision with a controller, and if you use the grip which I (kinda) explained, you have the same speed as on the keyboard too.

If you have the time to learn it, it's superior. Also, on some keyboards you can only push maybe 3 buttons at the same time.

Good for you, you found a method that works for you. For me, the only motions I can't do on keyboard vs pad is 623 41236 which isn't a big deal if you aren't a Shiki and Kohaku's old Drug On Install motion which seems to be gone now anyway.

Until I find a pad with ps2-ish directionals and six face buttons, keyboard will by far work better for me.
