well, since i'm a Ren user, i was wondering if any of you could link me videos of the very best Ren players around. i need to devdelop new strategies now, since i plan to start playing online. the computer just can't pose a challenge anymore, but i don't want to humiliate myself online just yet :D

Because he's a sick pervert. (I'm guilty of this also, in this occasion.)

Nice vids there.

Well, a cat is fine too.

oh. i get it now. don't get me wrong, that's not why i choose Ren as my main!!!
i choose her simply cuz i felt bad about her
► Show Spoiler
so of course, i felt compelled to beat the crap out of him with her.
the fact that she's a genuine cat girl is a big plus. :D

i don't know why people keep saying she sucks as a playable character though. true, she's not very noob friendly, but she's not hard to use either.

oh, btw, i'm not really sure of how good i really am compared to players on here, so i'd like it if some of you could just check out my replay and tell me how good/bad i am. this is me (Ren) vs my best friend (Nero). this is a replay for the latest version of melty blood act cadenza ver B. on pc.

note: he's using a ps2 controller while i was stuck using his keyboard, wich barely registers 2-3 keys at once. i'll upload a proper replay when i bring my own adaptor to his house. with the keyboard, i simply can't do air grabs or air combos, so i was pretty crippled there. still won tough.

here's the link. unzip in your replay folder, be careful, it's using slot 7. just as to not overwrite your own replays.

Ren is japanese for top tier. She's not S tier but definatly a stable A-tier character.

That replay was horrible -_-
First no time limit, secondly like ALOT of health and attacks doing no damage. Use normal settings!

Secondly, more black cats, learn combos, learn okizeme.

ouch. well thanks for the honest opinion.

first time hearing about Okizeme. what should i do when knocked down then? or when the oponent is knocked down, depending on who you were talking about. as for combos, i don't know that many...black cats are not really useful in my case because my friend is too used to them. i gave up after a while using them.

Teach me! master puKKa!
*bows*

another thing...should i keep the settings for heat effect as PC or arcade?

dosnt matter for the heat since it's graphical iirc.

Here are a few replays from me and Amn playing. He's quite good but non of us are really any great ;)
Some rounds are really slow since we both were on the defense sometimes..

Just put them in the replay folder and they should popup in the replay mode in-game.

Ok, watched your replay in fast forward... In addition what puKKa said, needs more airdash, instant airdash if anything. You will need it so you might as well learn it now :V .

Black cats, err, you can never get enough of them (except if you do them in "stupid" places (which I love to do... you can force a black cat set if you hold FORWARD after you do 214B (quartercircle backwards))), especially vs nero since his hitbox is huge (and gets bigger with certain attacks) and this gives you knockdown > Okizeme (what you do when your opponent is knocked down). Putting a black cat forces them to block or gives you another knockdown (or small combo) if they don't respect it/don't know what to do, this is also true for some cat rockets sets(neko arc).

More blocking is always nice (as in understanding when you can get away with something and when you should just sit there and wait for an opening, respect pressure), this is especially important since Ren lacks in the defense department. Also note that Ren is (MB wise) timing dependant and requires a high execution level on "higher" levels.

Ren also got a lot of good airnormals, but don't do like me and jump too much. 5C is very punishable if you miss it, use with caution.

Hope that helps a little.
