Although it's not an actual combo, more like a bug i caused while messing around with the memory adresses. :P

For real combos i don't remember, didn't play it for some time.

Somehow while searching for sprite displaying adresses i accidentaly found one that controlled the projectiles (sprite number/animation number, speed, positions, transparency etc).

An intentionally caused error rather than an actual in game bug. :P

I can't take screen-shots for some reason :/

But I guess my best combo was about 40 hits. With Nero.

Dunno if that's good or bad.

Arcueid - if you're talking about in-game replays, perhaps it is because you've upgraded to Final Tuned.

The basic way to take screenshots: hit "Print Screen", exit Melty Blood, open up Paint and paste it there. You can also download a program called FRAPS, which lets you take screenshots in-game, but half the time it doesn't work, for some reason...

My biggest combo... in terms of pure numbers, I've gotten 254 with Nero using a single Heat bar. Spammin crows like crazy.

Legit stuff: (and weak, I know)

No need to quit MB, just alt+tab, or run in windowed mode. Use alt+printscreen in windowed mode not to capture your desktop along with the MB window.

Also MSPaint is crappy. I'd suggest Paint Shop Pro, or if you can't afford it/ran out of evaluation time try InfranView.

Edit: Even better than the previous one:

Fer crying out loud dude, try something more legit <_<

I know Paint sucks, but everyone has it. I like Photoshop myself. Didn't know Infranview can do stuff though. Gotta try it.

Melty Blood has a stupid thing that quits the program if you Alt+Tab, so that's a no go. But yeah, window mode works.

So are you something like a good game hacker?

Not really a 'good game hacker', more like i just like to mess around with stuff.

For example here i was trying to find some memory adresses that contain information about the currently displayed sprite, so that i could use it to cycle through the character sprites and get them for myself.

And well, i made it, and found a lot of other interesting stuff too, like the timing, projectile stuff, transparency, possibility to turn the stage graphic off for a while etc.

Sorta like a manual splitdat that requires way more work to get the sprites and that'll work only on one pc. :P

That's neat. Easy to do, though. As long as you keep alternating attacks, you can hit the other player for a really long time.

My combo?s in ReACT have been pretty low in number (mostly because of the rebalancing).

In the original Melty Blood however I did manage this 67 HIT combo with Kohaku (mind you this was shortly after I started playing in August of 2003), the end result when I paused just ?happened? to end up as this screenshot.

Haha, that's an interesting screenshot. It took me a while to figure out who that was until I looked at the health bars :P

What's Kohaku's 'kusuri' in MBR? It was ridiculous in MB, and I think they changed it in MBR to be a little easier to pull off than 623421.

nah, it's the same. Only, it's executed instantly now so if you're standing right next to your opponent (as you should) they can't dodge it. I like you use it right after some slow attack, because generally people try to get a few hits in at that window.

If you want ridiculous you should use her blood heat shielding attack :D What kind of technique does she say it is?
