Character Power "SPOILER"

Unread postby Blackheart » March 24th, 2008, 11:49 pm

Ok everyone... lets get started.
I've been lurking around for ages and I cant take any more "I bet X is more powerfull than Y". Sometimes there are so extreme stupidness writen that I want to tear my eyes out and stomp on them. I know I cant stop this but for Christ's sake please look into things before posting crap...
But rejoice, I shall help ye (egoistical bastard), I shall write a small review concerning the strenghts of the main Nasuverse characters.
Side Note: why am I writing this shit here on the Melty Blood Chat? Because I can! (it makes sense, no? fighting game-fighting-power)

Now I begin:

-Arcueid Brunestud: True Ancestor

The last living full-blooded True Ancestor Arc has insane amount of power at her disposal. Useing most of her power to hold back her thirst she is operating at roughly 30%. Still this mere 30% is more than enought to defeat technicly anything in the Nasuverse. Regeneration, self-reconstruction, and invincable at full-moon, and as a bit of an overkill her Reality Marble, the Marble Phantasm, can obliterate anything, recreate anything without regard to the opponent or effect. In terms of strength, speed and endurance she is unmatched. I dont know why but people like to match her against Fate/Stay Night Servants... okay I'll play along. Which Servant could use a Reality Marble? One, and he was an exception, and Unlimited Blade Works would be no match for her. So to make it shorth Arc is practicly un-beatable. I wont waste more time on her.

-Ciel: Church Executioner

Fast, strong, agile, smart, and most of all immortal thanks to Roa (not like she likes it). Thanks to her weapons and the fact that she can use both magic and holy sacraments she is a top class vampire hunter. But still she has no godlike power (sorry Ciel fans), I cant imagine why people put her on Arc's level. Her anger, her dangerous love for curry and her weigth makes her a foe to most monsters of the Nasuverse.

-Hisui & Kohaku: Synchronizers

What the hell, they dont even have any powers except to synchronize with people. Still no one in the whole Nasuverse should be so stupid, so insane, so idiotic as to anger the most horrific force that ever walked the face of the planet: Magical Girl Amber! (Kohaku). Really anyone who messes with her or her beloved sister is doomed. Anyone. Dont know how but she'll find a way. Even though they are not Reality Marble's Kohaku's cleaning and Hisui's cooking is probably the most hellish destrucitve terror that exists.

-Akiha Tohno: Non-human

Thanks to her inhuman strength, endurace and cunning she is quite the danger. Her special power, Plunder, draws the lifeforce out of anything in her eyesight in the form of heat thus weakening anything and at the same time making her stronger. While the exact power of this ability is unknown (and I am thinking about resistance pierceing) it should not be taken lightly. If confronted with her undeveloped breasts she will show you the true meaning of suffering.

-Aoko Aozaki: True Sorceress

Enjoy your rape. As one of the five living True Sorcerers (and not to mention she uses the True Magic: Destruction) Aoko is unstopable. Its useless to waste words on her. She's like Slayer from Guilty Gear, only stronger.

-Satsuki Yumizuka: Vampire

Now she was a suprise. After getting bitten by Roa she did not turn into one of the many Dead, she instantly became a full-fledget vampire!
Even more suprising she has a Reality Marble at her disposal (Autumn Leaves) that can drain mana in masses, out of living things (this may be instant death to spirits and Servants). She is very inexperienced but maybe in 20 or 50 years when they make a real scenario for her she will become something much more than a meaningles victim. Go! Sacchin, Go!

-Shiki Tonho: DEATH INCARNATE

You're dead. If his opponent lets him close Shiki's Eyes Of Death Perception will erase the target from existence with a cut (except Arc in full moon).
His Nanaya blood burns in him with great fervor if he nears inhuman creatures giving him hightened perception, agility, strength and endurance.
Still he is a mere human so great care must be heald when facing his opponents.
There is 50% chance that you will die regardless what you are if you face him.

-Len: Succubus/Dream Familiar

Now this will cause an uproar...
Len is one of the most powerfull characters in the world.
Okay I might exegarate a bit but lets think:
Len's master was a very powerfull Magus and Len is just as strong as him in regard of knowlage and magic. She is a mastercrafted familiar, probably unique in the whole world. She has almost unlimited magic capacity well illustrated by the fact that she, as a magical being that feeds on souls or through a contract, managed to stay alive for 800 years without charging herself up. Not even the Heroic Spirits of F/SN could hope to survive even a week without nurisment (and dont bring up Gilgamesh, he was feasting on children while waiting for the 5th Holy Grail War).
She has complete control over dreams, probably over minds and maybe a little control over reality itself, and no one knows her true potencial.
If you take light of her be ready to get powned.

Roa and Nrvnqsr Chaos are powerfull Dead Apostoles but the small fact that they're DEAD makes it useless to rant about them. But I would like to point out that Shiki is a bit of an overkill.

I left out the Melty Blood charaters on purpose because as much as I like Melty Blood its not canon part of the Nasuverse but a doujin work.

Here comes the Fate/Stay Night characters:
Side Note: the reason I dont like comparing the Servants to Tsukihime character is that they have no reason to fight each other, Servants are made to fight Servants in the Holy Grail War, not monsters and such.

-Saber: Heroic Spirit

To humans Heroic spirits are godlike (lol, some of them ARE gods...) and Saber stands out of the other spirits like a shining beacon. If she has a capable master it is very likely that she will beat anyone. Her Noble Phantasms Invisable Air, Excalibur, and Avalon are exceptional in every regard, as is she.
She can be however be suprised and even overpowered. Her stats are all very high and her will is almost unbrakeable, she is an expert swordsman and a noble ruler, not to mention she is immune to magic and at the same time has exeptional magic capacity.

-My king, I pray that you can rest your weary soul at last, may your dream lie in Avalon until you return.

-Archer: Heroic Spirit

That bastard as a Servant is medicore at the least, his stats are low, his magic resistance is almost non existant and he isn't even a real warrior.
But that little Reality Marble is more than enought to kill anyone who faces him. Bastard.

-Emiya: Magus

More pathetic than Archer but Unlimited Blade Works still rocks the world. He's a real nice guy, very likeable, shame how low he falls (see who Archer really is and you'll get it if you dont know what I'm writing about). UBW is a very specialised power that can summon an infinite number of Noble Phantasms for use. Enjoy your rain of swords.

-Berserker: Heroic Spirit

Holy Crap! This juggernaut of destruction excells in all of his stats and his Noble Phantasm gives him limited immortality. On the side note he's insane but whatever, he gets the job done. What did you expect from a god?

-Rider: Heroic Spirit

She's hot. While this does not matter in battle its still note worthy. Her Noble Phantasms are extremly powerfull, but at the same time she herself is weaker than the other servants, but she makes up with cunning, and tactics. If she had a competent master, not some rodent she could pose quite the threath.

-Lancer: Heroic Spirit

The perfect hunter. His stats, skills and Noble Phantasms make him ideal to the task of killing the opponent with one strike to the heart. Only some unexcepted, powerfull defence can stop him. Shame he's an arrogant bastard on the outside, he's a real good guy.

-Gilgamesh: Heroic Sonofabitch

I take back what I wrote about Lancer being an arrogant prick. This guy is a walking ass, with the power of a god (he himself is part god, lol). His stats are almost all maxed out and his Noble Phantasms (especialy Enuma Elish) are bordering on being Reality Marbles. The guy is arrogant, egoistic, narcisstic, gloating animal and that makes him even more dangerous. Not even a full powerd Saber can beat him. Insane.

-Caster: Heroic Spirit

She is useless in hand-to-hand combat and if she is faced with a determend opponent she is likely to be killed. The problem is that she is a Magus from the Time Of Gods and commands magic to the extent that it borders on True Magic. If she is given time to collect magic from innocent victims she will be able to cast allmighty destructive spells with nearly no effort. Her Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker is special because it can eliminate any magic in the world (probably cant dispell True Magic) even Command spells (thus she can take over other Servants)

-Assassin: Heroic Spirit

The guy is compleatly useless, he isnt even a real Heroic Spirit just some phoney. He is barely able to slow down his opponets if he fights with all of his power. He doesnt have any Noble Phantasms but he is very skilled with his katana.

-True Assassin: Heroic Spirit

Lol, Dark Sabre, Dark Berzerker. It a waste of time writing that (s)he (or it) is extremly dangerous to anything.

-Illya: Magus

This little girl is a very powerfull Magus, but she still isnt enough to fight against a Servant, but she could probably defeat another Master with ease.

-Rin Tohsaka: Magus

Born into a very old line of Magus Rin has pretty extensive knowlage about magic. Her power to store magical energy in jewels enables her to cast spells that she could not normally be able to. But there is a limit to the jewels.

-Shinji Mato: Magus Wanabee

This dog is useless, doesn't even deserve life. Weak, cowardly, egoistic crap that can only cause trouble if left alive. Enjoy having your heart ripped out.

-Avenger: Heroic Spirit

Nah, too much spoilers.
But in terms of power he is quite weak.

Kirei Kotomine: Magus/Chruch Operative

Well, lol, the evil bastard is quite strong.
Wielding both Church weapons (Black Keys) and strong magic he is a powerfull opponent, but still human.
Enjoy your cursed existence.

Soichiro Kuzuki: Human

Whoah... no magic, no powers, nothing.
But he is still able to beat up servants with nothing but his fists. His rare assassin skills make him a worthy match for the weaker or weakend Servants if his fists are strengthend by Caster (he is her master). Still human so enjoy death.

I left out a few characters but that should be enough...

Now I'm done with ranting so Good-Bye folks.

Ohh I almost left out the most important part of the descriptions:

Because most of them are heroes they will never lose, so making a review about strengths is useless :D

Well, they ARE dead. Pretty much none of them died of old age, so at one point, there WAS a bigger fish. Being heroic only guarantees that they get to be impressive, stepping on a mine is impressive for that matter; no guarantee of survival though.

Most of the heroes who die, usually died due to the fact they were destined (prophecy?) to lose at some point. Either that or they had some fatal weakness the enemy exploited. But then again there are those who did lose to others in fair fights (though I can't of any off the top of my head). But you're right being a hero doesn't warrant invincibility, I liked your land mine analogy, sooner or later they lose and get killed.

I meant hero as in the protagonists of a game, and in 60% they dont die, if they do well there is always the good ending scenario that keeps everyone alive... convinient, no?

Ciel is not as good as arc, wrong she is better, unless you are referring to shinso arc (SHINSO BEAMMM!)

Arc can hypothecially be killed at night (lol).

Ciel is like wolverine on steroids she could have all of her molecules vaporized then be like Im back lol.

Only shiki who is rated S+++ tier on my list of super powers best being S+++++ (Frank Richard's from X-men), can even kill her, cause mystic eyes of death perception is just dumb.

Lancer was arrogant for a reason plus he is freaking awesome, he can use lv A magic but he doesn't normally cause its unfair.

not even mentioning Kouma or Nero come on, Kouma is canon btw.

I agree len is overpowered, stupid cats curse them.

You said a full powered Saber can't beat Gilgamesh?
She did once in the Grail War with Kiritsugu and Kirei and I'm sure she could beat him again. He's rather mediocre in all stats except his Noble Phantasm and his A Luck. Use a Command Spell with Saber and he's toast.

Oho, the 'Gilgamesh is weaker than Saber' argument spreads here.

Gilgamesh is the beeeeest servant. This is confirmed.

In the 4th war, his stats were all above B (specifically, 3 B, 2 A, 1 EX), which isn't quite average: the recockulous Lancer had only 1 E, 2 C, 2 B, and 1A.

Saber beat Gilgamesh only in Endurance and Agility by 1 rank, while Gilgamesh won in Noble Phantasm and Luck by 1 and 3 ranks, respectively. They had comparable stats in the 4th war, but in the fifth Gilgamesh was corrupted by the Grail and Saber had Shirou for a master, so both had reduced stats.

In the 4th war, I seem to recall something along the lines of Saber being unable to beat Gilgamesh, and instead was ordered to destroy the Grail to end the war. Gilgamesh was alive when the Grail was eliminated (when it poured on him), and so was NOT beated by Saber.

Aaanyways, as a Noble Phantasm is the symbol of a hero, it it counted as part of their individual strength. Therefore, since Ea is better than Excalibur, it means that Gilgamesh is better than Saber. You can't say 'he'd only win because of his Noble Phantasm', because ALL servants win because of their Noble Phantasms: i.e., Berserker'd be useless without God Hand, as Rin would have killed him, etc, etc.....

If you reeeaaally want to judge Servant strength without NP's, then Assassin would be the best, as he doesn't need a NP to use his strongest attack. Since he's considered the weakest, then Gilgamesh must be called the strongest.

Since I worked for a while on this one, I'll use it as copypasta from now on.

In a way he does make sense. Ciel is quite a heavy character in the "powerhouse" department because, as it is stated I dunno how many times in Tsukihime, she can use magic and is quite strong in that stuff, in fact, that's the reason she is still alive after getting pwned by Arc, but she doesn't use it (for a lame-ass reason... but it's not because "it's like cheating", if I remember correctly). In the "vaporization" scenario, it could happen I guess, but only if it was before killing Roa, otherwise, she would be just dead meat (or vapor, as in this case :P).

In her own route it is shown that Ciel cannot best Arc in battle. Shiki notes that at first they were in equal terms, but she later grew more and more tired, why? because Arc gets power out of the friggin' planet, man! how can a single person, no matter how "strong" in magic, can be "stronger" than a whole planet!? Answer: She can't.

In short, no matter how you wanna put it, Arcueid will always beat Ciel. Sure, she can use the 7h Scripture, but considering how fast each of them can move, I doubt Ciel could catch up with an Arc in full-speed.
"I settled for that shriek. Those dull vacant eyes... oiled cabbage stench of her...! [...] You know what? I'm sorry if I'm not gonna do this the way you want me to or the way you might. But I will not make an angel out of someone who wasn't an angel...!" -Chief Tyrol, on his beloved wife.
