Changing Controls

Unread post by iamandragon » December 20th, 2008, 6:05 am

Is it possible to change the buttons for the directions as well? My left button on my keyboard is a little...broken...

Should be able to change the button for any control. When you start up and can pick your display settings/volume stuff there is a key settings button on the lower right side IIRC. You can change each button there to keyboard or joypad settings.

It allows me to set any keys BUT the direction, which is what I need to be changed...

Sorry my bad. Looking closer, the config.ini in your bootfighter directory looks like it maps the key settings. Here's mine:

KEY_??=37
KEY_??=38
KEY_?E=39
KEY_??=40
KEY_?W?????v=90
KEY_?V???b?g=88
KEY_?T?[?x??=67
KEY_?^?Q??X=83
KEY_?K?[?h=86
KEY_?T?u?P=65
KEY_?T?u?Q=68
KEY_?T?u?R=70

The top four don't show up in the key setting "wizard" from the menu, they must be the d-pad controls since they're close numbers. With a little experimenting, you should be able to figure out the numbers for ASWD or whichever setup you want and sub them in.

Thanks! It works!

FYI, first one is left, second up, third right, last down.

So it goes like this:

Left
Up
Right
Down

Kind of annoying that it's required to go hunting in the .ini file but I guess it's worth it for better controls

WSAD Directional button user? Try replacing the top 4 with this.

KEY_??=65
KEY_??=87
KEY_?E=68
KEY_??=83
