Simply go to Windows' Volume Control, and select
Select "recording" instead of playback
Make sure the Stereo Mix checkbox is checked and hit OK.
Select Stereo Mix in this recording control, and tadaa~ even the Sound Recorder that came with windows will now record whatever files you play.
Alternatively, you can use a program called Audacity. (actually I'd recommend it) Not only is this option to record Stereo Mix built right in, but you can also conveniently trim the blank space around your sound samples and save them right into .ogg format.
To change your recording source, just look around the middle of the main toolbar. There's a dropdown box that says Microphone - just change it to Stereo Mix and you're set.
But on the note of blowing away people with Sabre... I'll be watching for when you have her uploaded!

Just select that as your recording device and dump into your favorite program. REmember to set your volume levels right. If you're really obsessive and your program supports it, record a few seconds of silence to make a noise profile, as most soundcards are quite noisy.
Oh god creative labs, such a piece of shit since the AWE32.

Again, I'm not sure the clips i used are in context, so corrections and comments are welcome.
I may also do the other Melty Blood characters if i have the time (or feel like it)

Also, what's the point of the text file with the pilot lines? I created one for each sound but I don't see any text show up during gameplay. Is this just an issue I'm having or is it that the text just isn't showing up for everyone?
Alrighty. If that's the case--here's a few things I noticed after looking through the sound files and clicking each one(as opposed to just from what I heard when playing). I don't mean to be mean or anything. I'm just mentioning these since you asked )
1. atk1 and atk5 are the exact same sound. (Any of the lines from 2-3.ogg would replace this sound fine.)
2. destroy3 still works but is slightly out of context. （笑）捕まえた！ means "I've caught you" or "I've captured you". It kinda works but feels out of place since the enemy is blown up lol. (I think it would work better as a s_atk line. The sound you used for 0.gg 立ちなさい軟弱物！ "Stand up you weakling!" or 5.ogg それではご機嫌よう。 "Have a nice day." would work better and be funnier for destroy 3 anyway lol.)
3. I changed the pilot.txt name from Tohno Akiha to Akiha Tohno since the pilot's folder is "Akiha" and it wouldn't be in the correct alphabetic order in the in-game pilot selection (lol, yeah that one is dumb so go ahead and ignore it).
Crimson wrote:Ah yeah, i figured atk1 and 5 where similar sounding and it was on my mind whether to change it or not, at first i didnt want to use one of the higher pitched attack sounds (because it gets annoying) but ill look through it again since you mentioned it.
and yeah.. i thought destroy 3 meant something like "caught you" or "got you". I don't know Japanese but i kinda have some vague understanding of some of it from anime and games lol.. (not confident in any of my understanding though). I figured it would be appropriate for a destroy clip since i thought that if you killed somebody, it means you broke past their defense or caught them with some attack. At first, it actually was an s_atk, but after testing it, i found out that pilots say the s_atk clips even if they miss... so it didn't quite fit.
But if you say it is a bit out of context, i could probably replace it with the "have a nice day" clip, because that makes sense to me also.
Oh, and yeah, thanks for the pointers, appreciate it.

Crimson wrote:As for 0-9.ogg and 0-9.txt -its for people that play online or over a network, the other voice clips (attacks, deaths, etc) won't be heard unless its enabled in the options. I think this is because of some lag issues, but by default only 0-9.ogg and txt will be transmitted to other players during in-game netplay. Mainly for the purposes of taunting and mocking people i think. Could also be used for praise i guess... but in my opinion its definitely stylish to comment on gameplay with a voice clip when appropriate. =P
Example: my Game Surround Fortissimo II (2001? something like that) accelerates sound better and makes less popping, clicks, and other shit than a soundblaster audigy.
