School Days

Unread postby The Stig » November 24th, 2006, 2:55 am

I watched the promotional episode during the summer and finally got around to getting it. I think this would be a pretty good project, not that you guys dont alreayd have enough to do though. What's kinda "special" about it is the game is the game is almost fully animated. I say almost because most of the animation is somewhat cheap, only the mouth moving or a panning shot, but still its something that isnt out there yet. Also with theres an update for the game that superimposes subtitles on to the animation, kinda like fansubs, but theyre still in japanese. Overall, it feels less like playing a game rather than kinda experiencing an episode. Hope it comes under consideration if it hasn't already~

From what I heard nothing much came off the initial efforts, I wouldn't consider School Days as an active project at the moment.

And we've got our hands full with MB, Fate and MaW!2, not to mention FS and other projects still hanging somewhere out there, so don't bet on us taking this on before hell freezes over. ^_^;;

This bishoujo game is being translated at the moment but its far from complete though the group that began translating it started quite earlier on. The link to that site that is currently translating the game is (not sure if i'm allowed to post links so i'll just give the name. Sekaiproject

November News~
http://www.sekaiproject.net/news/200811/

Sorry about the lack of updates lately. There really is nothing more I can say about the progress of the project so far, hence the reason why the site hasn't been updated for the last few months. We are still working on getting the subtitle patch proper and squashing any remaining bugs in episode 1. As for episodes 2 and 3, we are in the process of testing the script flow and developing overlays for them.

For the moment, here's some screencaps of the latest alpha build. Version is 0.0.2.005

The Spoiler button is a few images from the update!
This game looks interesting... and differently presented than other VNs maybe?

I'd love to get this one someday as well.

IT IS SICK!!!

I PLAYED IT IN Japanese and I WAS LIKE: HUH? THE neCK? Spoon? rivers of blood and other fluids? my cute classmate?

I heard it even was censored by the japanese authorities in japan because a girl hit his father with an axe... (..."hit"... I think that isn't the right verb...)

Eh? I thought that incident only delayed and censored the last episode.

Really? mmmm well, I only heard half ot it... so I don't really know. (the part with the "hitting" girl was just too shocking...)

I was like: WHAT THE FLUCK! HOW COULD THIS BE POSSIBLE!?
To tell you the truth School days was the only anime that really, really freaked me out in the real life.

(Well, that one and LAin...I can't get over the part with "The little person with red sweater watching you from behind the door" thing.)

Brrr creepy!

I heard a lot about school days and i know that it has many good endings besides the really bad and therefore quite popular ones.
All in all, judging by what games they did up to now, i don't think mirror-moon would do this.
Damn even if they did, i still wouldn't play it.
If the male protagonist is the same worthless scum as in the anime it's not worth the time anyway.

At least Makoto is a better person in the manga. Still, a bad ending... T_T

I don't dislike School Days, even though it certainly exceeds the norms of society in some ways...
But I actually liked it (though I've only seen the anime and don't like the main character).
I don't know how the game is, but I'm definitely interested in it.

NOw that I think of it...

I never understood one of the last scenes of the anime.

After girl-A (girl who tells girl-B she is pregnant.) stabs the main character, he touchs her breast before dying.
Does that have any meaning?

Like
"Damn! I am horny!"

or
"I have just realized the one I love is you, b*tch!"

or maybe
"what was the SMS for? couldn't you just have done it like everybody else? Take this as a punishment *squeeze*"

or even...
"What the!? I AM DYING!....a boob! my kingdom for a boob!"

Well, touching a boob before dying isn't bad so my bet is he just wanted something soft and squishy to touch.

Or maybe he was trying to hang on to something and that was the closest thing. Man, i hated that guy. Bastard. At least how the anime ended up being was unexpected so i can give it some credit.

Definitely a game I'll pick up next time I'm in Japan.

Looking forward to Sekai's patch ^^

Is it wrong that I want to play that game more than School Days? It'd be a great learning tool funny.

Sekai Project is proud to present ...
*drum roll*

Episode 1 Release 1.0.0.40 CODENAME 'Kinomoto Sakura'
It only took us two years and three months, but we're finally able to bring you the first episode for School Days!
All in all, I'm just trying to say we took this long because we were going into uncharted territory and trying to build the foundations for our translation. Of course, future episodes shouldn't take as long and I hope to be at episode 3 or 4 by the end of the year.

(video not related to Sekai Project, but it has School Days opening with subs!)

Oh and Sekai Project has a new website!
