Ripping the music?

Unread postby Amayirot Akago » March 20th, 2008, 11:18 am

Is it possible to somehow extract the music from the game's resources? I'd love to have the soundtrack in my MP3 collection.

If this counts as asking for warez, I apologize in advance...

The quick-and-dirty way would be to just open bgm.a in any sound editor as a raw 44100 Hz 16-bit stereo file. That will at least get you most of the BGM, though some may have a different format and the looping tracks will be cut-off at some ugly point.

If noone has heard of a proper BGM extractor for this, I might write one.

The susie plugins for it allow to do that. Once you open the bgm.a file just select all of them then drag+drop the .wav files to extract them.

I think someone posted a link to the susie plugins in this forum earlier.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction; picked up Susie and the Leaf plugin like you said. However, there is a little problem I keep running into: some files are extracted without any problem, but most keep giving me an error message about there not being enough diskspace available while I got dozens of Gb's free. What gives?

Try ExtractData with Susie-Plugins enabled.

Susie.exe has problems if the files you try to extract are too large and gives an error message.
