Utawarerumono Updates

Unread postby Caineth » January 29th, 2008, 6:35 pm

I noticed that the Utawarerumono section does not have an update section. Last I heard it had cleared the first stages of installer testing. Could we get an update (placed in the Utawarerumono section preferably) on how progress is going? I suppose I should also ask if it is still being handled by mirror moon or is it back in the hands of Soylation

Heh, I hadn't realized we didn't even have an Uta forum yet.

Today we've taken a big hurdle: ArchDemon was able to create a font that works on all required operating systems, in both Japanese and non-Japanese locales. This is very good news, because now the game will not require appLocale or any of that hassle. Basically, the game should no longer require any Japanese support to be installed on the OS.
This was really the only problem still blocking us, I'm going to compile a new Uta testbuild before I go to bed. All that's left is loose ends and RC testing, as far as I can see. We're getting very close now.

Hello everyone, first post here, got tired of lurking around xD

I got a few questions about the game. I know its a strategy rpg but does it contain multiple paths and girls? Around how much selections if so?

Thanks. :D

You could always add in extra script for an aruruw ending if you really wanted. I am sure you could come up with a good scenario :P

Oh and before i forget ... PEDO :P:P:P

You really should only be playing for either Touka or Karura. :D

This actually makes me wonder, how did you guys (RyuuSoul?) romanize the names? Aruruu or Aruruw? Not really a big deal either way, but the second one feels kinda off to me personally.

I'd always seen their names spelled Eruruu and Aruruu in subtitles, though slight changes are to be expected I'm curious as well.

Ryuusoul chose to use Eruruw and Aruruw, to better match the Ainu used in the game. You will find a detailed explanation of the used naming conventions in the liner notes, once it's released.

Nice work.

Since there are voice patches for Clannad and Fate/Stay Night (the latter currently only for the chinese t/l), I wonder if that would also be possible for Utawarerumono.

It would be possible, but its probably will be difficult , since Leaf never release a Voice Patch and the only version with voices scene is the ps2 version, so you have to hacked it from the ps2 version and transfer it to the PC version, also the ps2 version lacks the H content so the game will not have all scenes voiced.
The ps2 version also has some extra content over the PC version if you're willing to try it out.

The voice patches I mentioned were created by fans by using the PS2 versions of Clannad* and Fate/Stay Night (Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua). The Fate PS2 version is similar to the Utawa PS2 version. No H content, but with some new scenes.
Just wondering if hacking the Utawa PS2 version and creating a patch is more difficult than for the other two games.

* = A new PC version, which includes voices, will be released soon.

mirrormoon is really strict on Warez matter, and i think i read message's post somewhere about mirrormoon considered voice hacking of PS2 game as warez. they will probably create a method for us to hack the files on our own, from our own authentic ps2 games, on F/SN it will mean Realta Nua. They will never release the voices files on it's own for free on their homepage. That's what i understood.

I believe there's an effort in progress(or was anyway) for using your legit copy of the Realta Nua PS2 disc to get voices for F/SN, or something to that extent, it wouldn't surprise me if someone somewhere may initiate the same type of deal for Utawarerumono.
