I don't know what kind of top 200 is, but it is surely messed up.

How is it possibile that Death note, Neon genesis Evangelion or Last Exile are not even in the top ten?

It's animenfo, nuff said. Good resource but the ratings for particular titles are influenced by a mass of fanboys of different kinds so not paying too much attention to the scores there.

Just took a look at the Top100, impressions:
- only one Satoshi Kon-Anime, and that's quite at the end --> fail
- too much shounen animes like Naruto or One Piece --> fail
- Kino's Journey isn't in the Top10, neither something from Nobuyuki Fukumoto (Kaiji, Akagi) --> fail
- too much (imo) overhyped animes like Death Note or FMA --> fail

But really, how did the series get this score, at MAL it's at least 7.6 . Still too much, but better than 8.5 =/

Well, they do have some taste: Kimi and the Rurouni OVA is high.
But really, it's a mainstream list. You can't expect anything else of it.

I very much agree. Mainly in the hyped stuff.

Am I the only one who thinks that 12 kokuki should be in the top 10? I think that anime was pretty awesome, except for the ending.....

There's heaps of anime missing on that list. Seeing something like Kanon as top 100, while Clannad is nowhere on that list really says something already.

This list should be taken with an ocean of salt.
Classics are missing.

Mobile Suit Gundam and Yamato didn't make even Top 200

Really, it's quite the dumb list.
I really miss a lot, like blood+, I actually liked it. It was a long series, though.

-Edit

But anyway, the reason I made this topic was because I was just looking for new animes I need to watch. After having seen Rozen Maiden en its 'sequel', I think it's time to set another step. SO I looked for high-rated animes on this list. Only to find out, that they, well, sucked. A bit. Hard.

So, recommend me some :)
Apparently, lucky star is good. Is it?

I really detested Lucky Star to begin with, but it grows on you. The characters are great.
You can feel the creators had fun doing it.

I've seen 2 eps of lucky star. You have to get used to the "fast paced-ness" of the series (at least it's a bit for me when compared to others), it took me like a third of the ep or so. As far as I know, is just gag after gag, which is kinda refreshing after what I've seen :D. It IS entertaining, and you may like it. It reminds me a little of Azumanga Daioh because of the format it has.

You may want to see Kure-nai if you rather something more serious in nature, although it has it's gags too. It's only 12 eps and very easy to watch, but the ending.... it's kinda "meeeh"....

Well, seeing that most of the top in the list actually has some original that's way better than the anime, it's not really that weird for it to be there :P
