Do you guys make your own pics, or do you take it out of another picture?

Next, could u guys give me a brief tutorial on how to make them?

hmm, though I haven't made a pictured sig yet, i'm planning to make one..
but for the material, i'd rather search for it in the internet....
to be frank, my drawing's not that good...
if you want to learn to draw, why don't you just buy a manga/anime drawing guidebook..?
that should tell you a lot about it...
nowadays, computer-drawn manga guidebook are also sold everywhere...

i take it from something else, although i use simple programs only (heh, Paint and simple cropping..) though sometimes the rare use of GIMP (insert Photoshop if you wish).

As for my how-tos.. sorry, cant help much there as i said, i only use simple picture editing and i dont draw them. I'd end up drawing stick figures at that rate.

Here's a good tip from Animesuki on making animated GIFs for stuff like avatars.

(waitt.. is that question about how to make sigs / avs? (provided an image) or how to draw for sigs / avs.. ?)

Hey thanks for the tips.

Oh and i was only after making your own avatars from existing pictures, not as far as making your own picture from scratch =P

In case you were wondering, my current sigs and avatars are made by my brother ^ ^

I pretty much always just crop a picture and put a simple border around it. I'm a major supporter of the beauty of simplicity and minimalism, so I never bother with fancy photoshop effects and what not.

I use already existing images, or screen shots, at a bit of text to the sigs with photoshop and call it good. Granted it can take me an hour or two to get my character in just the right spot for a screen shot, but it works.

here is the sig I made for when I still played EQ2,

Get photoshop or something. That's the program people use to create signatures and avatars.

Let me tell you something though, using photoshop is HARD. Well, for me its hard.

Or, instead of spending $400+ just to make some avatars, get photoshop elements, which is about 1,000 years cheaper. I put together my own signatures using my school's computers with photoshop, but I can't really do that anymore so I'll probably end up buying elements for my own use. I'm pretty n00by with it so most of what I make ends up just being a couple of pictures layered on top of each other, followed by playing around with blending options, so it's not like I'll miss a lot from getting the cheap version. The one I'm using now was made from screencaps of Melty Blood.

If you don't have the money for Photoshop I'd recomend using GIMP. I'm not much of a fan to it since I have photoshop already but I can say that it has most photoshop functions and I've used it when I havnt been able to use photoshop. If you are used to using photoshop I'd recommend getting GIMPshop since it's layout is mroe like that of photoshop.

And ofc, it's free and open source.

Yeah, i've got photoshop in my comp, and darn, it's really complicated. My brother is pretty good with these things (as he DOES enter an IT college), and can do all sorts of things with it.

Is GIMP an easier type of program like Photoshop or something?
