It's amazing what people will do for a box of plastic and silicon.
It's sad that I'm not surprised.

Yeah, and little do they know that its all a waste of time. If I get one, it will be when there is a title I MUST have and can't wait to play

Wouldn't it stand to reason that the company who creates the need, in this case Sony, should also be responsible for making sure that need does not cause trouble due to short supplies?

No. Why would a private company be responsible for that?

I'm not going to get a PS3... especially since my PS2 has been lying in its box for about the past two and a half years.

Maybe it just makes Sony look good to have people willing to kill over their products...
I do think stores, and Sony as well, could have done more to prevent this. It's not like this is the first time people have gone crazy over a hot product, so you think those in charge of distribution could have prepared for this and not purposefully create such a huge shortage. I have to commend that Best Buy in Boston for what they did (handing out the tickets), I only wish other stores would have followed their example.

I might get a PS3 a few years down the line once prices drop, but $600+ for a console is just too much. I have a good PC, I'll stick with that for now.

The PS2 is a better buy than the PS3, anyways.

the ps2 can do so much more than you think...with the ps1 game exploit, i was able to play act cadenza, wich i wouldn't be able to under normal conditions...the ps2 wasn't very import friendly. but hey...berserk and melty blood, that's why ps2 still resides in my heart.
and before someone yells at me for using warez and all, i'm not. i own the games. i just didn't want to risk opening the ps2 to install a modchip.those things are dangerous...

you just have to know how to use it. I bought my PS2 used, put a mod ship in it and it has NEVER had a problem. and I have it for about 3 and a half years

i'm curious though, since you have a modchip, what can a modchip do that the exploit can't?

well, you don't have to make the exploit? you just pop in the disk and play...

also can the exploit play burned games? because the modship can

i don't think he meant the modchip, but more the "download" thing you said.

hey, message, do you consider modchips or exploits warez when it comes to playing our imports?i just don't like to have to buy another 200 bucks console to play my games...
