What manga are you reading?

Unread postby solopy567 » July 31st, 2009, 2:26 am

I haven't seen a topic about manga anywhere here, so I thought I should create one.

This includes light novels!

Anyway, I'm reading Pokemon Special....It's way better than the anime.

yeah, seems like a good idea to separate it from the anime thread... which would have been the place to post this before...

topic: im following 3 ongoing ones
Tenjou Tenge
Deus X Machina
Mondlicht, tsuki no tsubasa (yay, sexy vampire with a katana kikin' sexy reanimated girls arse :D)

I haven't read manga in some time. The last I read I think was Change 123, an action/comedy story. Haven't check Berserk or Gunnm: LO lately, neither Melty's second manga.

Sounds meh-ish. What's that about?

see if you can resist after this...(non-spoiler, its the actual 1st page of it)

an actual awesome read imo (mecha carnage, sexual innuendo, loli-esque girl with a huge armor-piercing-ammo-loaded gun... the basics)

woot, single most awesome post number achieved lol (woe to you oh earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath)

Naruto 458.
Life is but a River.
A continuous flow, relentless till it reaches its destination.
Rocks, rapids, falls hinder not the flow of the strong.
It has its ups,and its downs.
And in the end,peacefully.......
It dissipates into to vast Ocean.

Onani Master Kurosawa

Just finished reading it today. I think it would be a good read if you liked Welcome to the NHK.

When I'm bored and don't have much else to do I read Yu-gi-oh Original (or whatever it's called). Alot better than the Card Game manga with power levels.
But I shall forgive you. Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained.

I'm about to start watching Biomega. If you know about Tsutomu Nihei's mangas, then you know why I use that verb instead.

Is that the mangaka that did the Blame! manga? If so, then I know what you're talking about.

Yup.

From my experience with Tsutomu Nihei's work, about half way through his story, the process goes from watching to just passive osmosis, because for every single one of his manga, I always get lost at about the half-way point and don't quite know what is going on any more. It seems to me all his story starts out sci-fi and gradually gains a surrealist aura. Nonetheless, I am still a huge fan.

...I read way too many series, and they're all over the spectrum with regards to genre... Sasameki Koto, Aoi Hana, Twin Spica, Bloody Monday, Historie, xxxholic, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Full Metal Alchemist, Shitsurakuen (although only a few chapters have been scanned - looks like a modern remake of Utena :/), Gyakusou Shoujo, Gokujou Drops, the recently completely scanlated Himegami, Shikabane Hime... and just because I started them and it'd be a shame to stop, I also read Naruto and Bleach. :V
Oh and Shiki, Change123, Doubt, Saijou no Meii, Helen ESP and Franken Fran... but SC hasn't released anything in months so nothing much has happened there...

I'm currently reading Goth. It's pretty short, so I'll probably be finished with it sometime today.
