Hoh. And I thought I was the only one that liked that manga.

I'm about to read Kashimashi because I'm THAT bored. I've had a little too much Family Project and need a breather from it (I'm about to finish Chunhua [Wooo!] but....). After some chapters I'll downgrade my intellect with the grandiosity that is the DOOM comic!

Patently we aren't the only ones who like it, seeing as it's still being worked on. :P I really only picked it up on a whim (the art and premise didn't appeal to me), but I'm glad I picked it up... just like I'm glad I started reading Monster, which I only really started because a LOT of people recommended it.

Ahhh, Kashimashi... I only read the first volume or something? Not really my thing... too much slapstick, not enough child-like innocence a la Azumanga Daioh. In other words, a series that tries to take itself too seriously, and has crossed too many genres.

Yeah, but I mean in this forum. I liked the premise because I used to be a little like that as a kid (the "I wanna go to space!" really gets to me) and yeah, the art is..... well it could easilly be better.
I haven't read Monster but I watched the anime. Really top-notch, that stuff is.
I recommend you check Mushishi if you have the time. The art is a little iffy too in the first volumes but gets stable during the march. The premise is a fantasy story with a "healer" of sorts that wander around Japan in the past. It's episodic in nature so it's a light read.

Hmm.... yes, I think I see what you mean..... I'll try to finish the first volume and compare my boredom and the other procrastinated activities against reading Kashimashi.

Quite a lot actually... unlike anime, I do have some heavier contact with manga. To name a few:

- Berserk (slow ass releases by the author... too bad). One of my favorites.

- Black Lagoon. Good old mindless violence.

- Breaker. Just for fun, it's all right.

- Cage of Eden. I love survival in any form.

- Change 123. Stupid, but for some reason I can't help liking it.

- Claymore. It's ok.

- Dorohedoro. Damn awesome. Bizarre and original.

- Hen Koi. Nothing special, but it's entertaining.

- Holyland. Awesome.

- ILHS. It's funny I guess.

- Mirai Nikki. It's both stupid and good.

- Mysterious Girlfriend X (or something like that). Interesting character.

- Noritaka. For the lulz.

- Rabuyan. For the lulz #2

- Tsukihime. No progression with the scans... D:

- Ubel Blatt. Pretty good.

- Vagabond. Awesome.

- Zetman. Fucking slow, but good.

Yeah, I know. Useless comments.
If you disagree, you are wrong.

Hayate no Gotoku -Chapter 149
Life is but a River.
A continuous flow, relentless till it reaches its destination.
Rocks, rapids, falls hinder not the flow of the strong.
It has its ups,and its downs.
And in the end,peacefully.......
It dissipates into to vast Ocean.

As part of my studies for learning Japanese, I'm trying to follow a story in Dengeki Daioh, with the essential electronic dictionary at hand. To tell you the truth I don't even know what the title is, but the subtitled title says 'Loose Relation between Wizard & Apprentice.

Also tried following Akiba Romance! from another magazine, but I missed an issue, so now I cbb.

For manga translated in English, I've been reading:

Karin
GetBackers
Ghost Hunt
Tsubasa
xxxHolic
Tsukihime (nothing about vol. 6 in months....)
Yotsuba&!
Yozakura Quartet
Mushishi

...and that's all I remember without having to search around my room.

I don't read any scanlations, so everything I read is bought, which really limits what I can read. Ahh well.

@AlinSabel
Finished with Kashimashi (after wanting to punch some of the characters in the nose more than a couple of times, mainly the creepy dad). I think you were expecting something else from this one. It's a high-school drama, but besides that there's nothing else that really ties it with the kind of manga that Azumanga Daioh is. This is a romantic-comedy with some drama spliced in-between to keep the mood going. An interesting read to see what the writer pulls to subvert a little some of the cliches it comes face to face.

Reading: Mushishi
Waiting: Yotsuba&!.... Haven't seen releases from this in some time now.

so... now waiting on moar releases on Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha Force (GUNBLADE!) only prologue and ep 1 out ;_;
