i eventually got fed up with both my laptop and desktop. so i sold the Desktop and gave my sister the old toshiba.i ordered myself a little monster that will fit my needs for a litle while...behold: the asus C90s

it's an upgradeable laptop!
Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6600 2.4 GHz 1066FSB 4M
Built-in 2.0 MP Webcam with 2 microphones,
GeForce 8600M GT 256MB GDDR3 MXM 2.0
2GB DDR-2 667 SODIMM (2X1024)
Seagate Momentus 7200.2 120GB 7200rpm S-ATA 300
bluetooth/fingerprint reader/hdmi output/s-video output/3 usb 2.0 ports/Wireless 3945 802.11 a/b/g/n
little candy: Blue-Ray 2x/multidvd writer with lightscribe technology

it's a desktop replacement system. usually comes barebone for around 700 bucks, but with all those addons it costed me a little over 1.6k
fun part is that you can replace the video card and accepts desktop cpu's up to 2.93 Ghz dual core.

not too shabby eh? and the very best part: win xp works on it!!!!!

That's pretty cool, an upgradeable laptop. Just read a little bit about it, seems pretty interesting. If Asus keeps up graphics card support then this could be a great solution for gamers who travel a lot.

just bought a 9600GT (512mb). Probably not much worth it since my last one was a 8600GT already. Benchmarks did say nearly up to a 90% increase in performance, so... i bought one anyway. Might as well hand the older card down to my brother's pc with a low-end Geforce 7200.

Haven't placed it in yet though cause I just realized that I don't have a power supply unit that could run it yet. Damn.

My PC has no DVD unit. You can guess how the rest of it is.

Lololol your comp is obsolete? I wish I had something half that good.

My specs:

Processor: Intel Pentium III 933 MHz
RAM: 384 mb (with two ram slots both filled, 128mb and 256 mb respectively. This unit has no built-in ram apparently)
Video card: Magnum Xpert 128 32mb vRAM
Harddrive: 38.9 GB total, Approx. 33 GB in use.
Sound card: Not really worth mentioning. The newest one back in 2001 March (as is the rest of my computer setup), that's all I know.
DVD rom drive: Reads CDs and DVDs. Reads burnt CDs. Does not read burnt DVDs. Cannot burn discs.

Date of computer (all parts thereof, save one 256 mb ram strip) purchase: March 14th, 2001.

I win fail comp of the year award?
