I'm in Japan and in need of some gaming related help xD

Hi everyone! また、ひっさしぶり.
I'm here in Japan for the month and I really have to ask some questions:
a) Can an AUS PSP (First Model, I think that's serial PSP-1001) play JP PSP Games?
b) If Yes, should I get Final Fantasy Dissidia &/or BLEACH HEAT THE SOUL 5?
Advice, Suggestions on alternatives, and of course answers would be gladly accepted

Heiya, another Aussie here.
PSP game-wise is region free, its only the UMD movies you'd have to be careful about. Well, this is from using one of the AU 3000 models playing the JP release of F/TCU and Ikki Tosen Eloquent Fist. I'm pretty sure its the same for 1000 and 2000 models, from speaking to other gamers and browsing the interwebs.
(Otherwise, if I'm wrong I'll happily take any non-workers off your hands XD)

a) Yes. PSP is region free
b) Dissidia == Pure sex. But I would say wait for the english version coming out mid next year. Seriously unless you know your japanese very well it can become a little hard with the numerous menus and whatnot.
Bleach - Heat the soul 5 is another awesome fighter. That will never ever come out in english so yeah go for it.
Also screw you guys who said eww PSP >_>
Edit - Woot another aussie. That makes a hattrick ^_^

But still... Its quite a game to play... Even without the english translation... I mean.. The gameplay in itself is pure sex, i agree, much more so if you're a FF fan...
With the characters they've got in store.. It was like im walking down memory lane, watching my childhood FF heroes (and VILLIANS i might add..) get some EPIC makeovers! XDDD

Way worth the to buy, truthfully bleach heat the soul isn't even comparable to it ( Unless your a REAALLLY biased bleach fan ).
This game is the best fighting game I have ever played, mind you I'm a heavy gamer.
Though.. it's bit hard without the translations but you'll do fine if your good in jap, I fail in jap but I was able to understand half of the storyline their pretty basic..
And definitely PSPable * Shines his aussie PSP *, Yep aussie here too ordered it from play asia never regretted it. and the jap voices are awesome which puts another reason why you should get the jap one instead of waiting for english.. unless english has a voice change option

'(, Damn NTSC and PAL regional codes... Curse youuuuuu!!!! おんおれエエエエエ！
P.S. YES! I don't have to listen to the terrible horrible VA of

(Sorry for the 12 year old happiness parade, I only just realized)

Well seeing as how mod chips are legal in aus you could buy unlimited codes and just mod your ps2. I still havent done so but I regret that since I missed out on a good number of jrpg due to pal and ntsc issues T_T
