Alex Jones: Internet Censorship

It's pretty scary, never thought about it like that.
And I know for a fact that Youtube freezes counters at least. Remember when 4chan went against the scientologists? Those movies had 100k views AND 100k ratings. That doesn't add up... stastistically maybe 1 / 20 users bothers rating.

It's the same thing with this movie... (although not as excessive, this movie should have much more than 90k views)

We have to become aware of this.
Everyone uses google. If we are not aware of them censuring and manufacturing view hits, they are practically censuring the internet.

So the MAN has just come around and started "kickin' ass n' takin' names", huh? Yeah, it was bound to happen sooner than later. This kind of actions tend to start after a "disruptive innovation" is causing trouble, "excess of free speech" they may say. A few months ago I was talking with a friend about how troublesome it could be if Google started suffering from censorship issues, the worst thing it's that Google is taking part in it.

The way I see it is that there is some kind of revolution (no... not an armed one... get those rifles down guys....) or the MAN wins. Sure, I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong...

Maybe a new technology just as disruptive as the 'net still not developed could be the answer for a time, until it starts causing other kind of trouble.

Anyway... yeah, censorship is pretty bad most of the time. It could be said that information is the current weapon in this days, now that they are making it even more scarce to find viable info, we are one step closer to a "beautiful" dystopian future..... "yay"....
"I settled for that shriek. Those dull vacant eyes... oiled cabbage stench of her...! [...] You know what? I'm sorry if I'm not gonna do this the way you want me to or the way you might. But I will not make an angel out of someone who wasn't an angel...!" -Chief Tyrol, on his beloved wife.
Have you heard about the saying that goes something like "drunk people and kids tell no lies"? Well, that's just a fallacy.

Whoa... I never thought that such wars are going in the net world.... being used to live in a country where the president and congress can hardly use PC ( I think...), such problem of censorship never really occured near my surrounding.... well, except for the "Fitnah" movie made by Netherland that uploaded in Youtube....

Anyway, I think it's quite serious, information censoring is simply unacceptable and a serious crime toward the mass.... What kind of era are we living?? Despotism??!!

Heh, internet cencorship here in Finland has been mostly a running joke. There's a law that allows the goverment to censor child porn sites. Apparently a large amount of sites are censored due to this law, even though they don't contain kiddy porn, but that's clearly just a matter of the police being overzealous and doing a poor job rather than some plot to move to "Internet2" A joke it was because Thailand cut diplomatic relations with us due to censoring as child porn a site that honored the memory of their late princess.  Hey, can't help it right? It had suggestive pictures and we don't understand what's written there!

Of course the cencorship is not just a local issue, at least this forum would be pretty lonely if America were to lose real internet. Now I'm not too concerned about google being corrupt, it's just a corporation that follows the money. What ultimately decides the fate of internet is the attitude of goverments. Is it wrong for them to censor all those sites? It's anarchist propaganda that reaches the eyes of millions in a week and makes people doubt their goverment and even rebel against it. In many ways, much worse than child porn. I think the goverment has the right to take action against something that provocative. And they're already doing it anyway. I just hope the damage to the internet caused by this campaign remains minimal.

It's all fine currently, but it might not be in 4 years.
