Their first fight was the best by far (when it was good). There are a TON of fights in anime that are amazing. You got Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X fights, Trigun, Bleach, etc. The list goes on and on.

I enjoyed the fights in Samurai Champloo. Some Macross was also good, mainly the frantic robots firing bullets and missiles is pure win to me in Macross F! Aaah! And Berserk's action sequence in the last episode! I could just cream myself with that ep!....

I think F/SN had a very good fight scene. I haven't really paid attention to fights in anime to remember the best, so that's what's on my mind atm.

Or the Ragnarok the Animation MVP fight scenes. You gotta be preeeeeeety damn strong to kill an MVP with 1 slash.

Does "L" vs Kira count? If it does its by far the best.

If it doesnt it gets harder...
But I shall forgive you. Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained.

L Vs Kira was cool but the "fight" really lost steam towards the end. There was absolutely no reason for L to continue accusing Light of being Kira. I mean give a guy a break. After everything that he does to clear his name it just seems stupid as hell for L to continue mistrusting him.

For my best anime fight I would have to say I have seen too many cool fights to choose one over any other. But the most memorable would be when Goku finally turns SSJ against Frieza...
And the cutest anime character award goes to ... PINO

caution.. spoilers ahead..

The most...

Funniest Fight: School Rumble Season 2, EP 2

In this episode, the class is undecided what to do for the school culture festival... half the class wanted to do a play, while the other half wants to do a maid cafe. To pick the event for the festival, they decide to have an all out war between the class at night in school. Lovers are torn apart, desks are used as shields, guns (which look pretty realistic) are used as it would be in war, technology is used to spy on people, guys are able to show their true feelings... basically almost real all out war. Because the whole series is so damn funny, even though the war was really serious and realistic, i was laughing my ass off the whole fucking time.

Unpredictable Fight Ending: Code Geass Season 2, EP 18

What the fuck happened!... Code Geass never fails to surprise ANYONE. To make it short.. Zero, being pompous and arrogant comepletely did not expect FLEIA to do so much damage (or FLEIA at all), practically losing half his army, his sanity, and most importantly his beloved sister which is the primary reason he is fighting at all.

Best Animated Fight and Most Satisfying Fight Ending: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, EP 27

Although the whole series wasnt as great, the ending final battle was the best out of all the series i have seen so far. Basically Simon finally defeats the Anti-Spiral and restores peace unto the Galaxy nations. The best part of the 8 minute fight was when the gurren came out of a gurren which came out of a gurren which came out of a gurren which came out of a gurren. The only part that i disliked was where Nia dies :(
