Thinking about getting Figures of Happiness...
Definitely get FoH. Great game. Though most of the side routes feel really tacked on.

In other news, Princess Waltz has failed my expectations thus far. And I can't even muster up enough energy to finish it.

Im not sure if it was mentinoed or not, but some older games that are well done ((but definetly show their age)

Three Sisters Story
Seasons of Sakura
Nocturnal Illusions ((personally, my favorite out of those 3))

They are well done story wise. Nocturnal Illusions is just wow im my opinion.

And, JAST has them on two different disks that work on XP/Vista.

they are under the: Milky House Memorial Collection (For Nocturnal Illusions)
and JAST Memorial Collection (For Three Sisters Story and Seasons of Sakura)

Though, if I remember correctly, you might want to find a guide to get all the endings, ((or out of the infernal look/listen/think bind in Nocturnal Illusions))

Out of all the Visual Novels mentioned, which ones are translated? Because I don't want to get a game and then find out it doesnt have a translation.

I think most of them, unless otherwise stated, are translated. I can't be arsed to go through and find which ones aren't, but if you post a list I could tell you.

yah... especially the second arc...
And the closest thing you get to routes are incredibly (INCREDIBLY) short...

Although you get a nice little bonus if u finish all of the girls ;)
Nodaka ending FTW!

All of them are commercially translated eroge or visual novels. Note that Hirameki, Peach Princess, G-Collections, LIBIDO and Kitty Media are the translation company names, not games.

Peach Princess the game :P
Unique story with references and nods to all their current titles...
That'd be interesting lol..!

Anyways, just started Tears to Tiara and it looks like another solid fantasy game by Leaf...
Within the first 2 scenes it had me feeling sad and laughing out loud [also had a few parts that had me starstruck and another had me awkward... lol]
It's a bit much at once, but regardless I'm having fun.

Which ones do you recommend? I don't mind H scenes, but I want to know which ones are like F/SN, with fantasy and sword fighting, and which comedy ones are good

Wow! Last time I knew about this, Message said that the translators were being mysteriously snatched by ninjas or something!
Daaaamn! Now I don't know what to get! I'm between Phantom of Inferno and Saya no Uta (lost the chance to get an RN copy...)! Any recommendations?

I put off playing Kana for years, mainly due to the summary description "What will you do when you develop feelings for your little sister?" or so...

I was like "FAIL, GO AWAY!"

BUt I tried it earlier this year, and I've got to say, it might have touched me more than Nasu's works. Hell, even the Hentai Scenes are skippable, I LOVE that. I always wanted in a H-game to be like "Nah, sorry, no, we're not screwin'" :P

The game is a masterpiece. The start, when they're hiking...I haven;'t felt as much rage at an imaginary character - well, ever. Usually I can sympathize with a Villain or Bad Guy, but that was just like "YOU NEED TO EFFING DIE, KID!" seriously made me wanna strangle him. It was worse than the Elfen Lied torturing of a young Kaede.

Ever17 never blew my mind. It showed it was better than your average, but just by a little.

Yume Miru, I'll agree, that game surprised the HELL OUT OF ME. I was NOT expecting to BE THAT GOOD. Everything in it fit so well together, I could of swore magic was somehow involved in it...:P

Critical Point - I'll agree with you there, lots of sex, and disturbing as hell ones at that. Still, some scenes made it worth playing.

Snow Sakura - It's again, just a little better than the average, due to the realistic relationships portrayed by characters.

Sagara Family - Lots of H-Scenes as he said, but really good ones, and overall loveable characters.

Heart de Roommate - Yes, I enjoy this one. I played two routes, the glasses girl, and the one you have that horrible secret on. I know more endings existed, but I didn't care for it.

Bible Black - STAY AWAY. It has Hentai every 5 minutes at least, and more often than not, it's GROSS hentai. The story also fell apart after the first episode and a half. I am still never sure how it became so popular, the characters aren't even DRAWN in an attractive way!. (If you find every woman perfectly fit, with the same body typ, and every woman, even a child, has breasts that makes Pam Anderson go "Holy shit!", and that somehow every girl you know is a kinky sex monger.

Well here I can get a copy of phantom on amazon for 10$ or less... [And that game lasts a fairly long time!]
Saya is 60$ at Himeya... [someone said they finished it in 3 hours...] I still want it though...

[Phantom was the reason I got interested in VNs :P]

Who did that? 'Cause there was nobody in that that made me feel anything, except question myself "Why am I wasting my time with this again?" Got the "Snow" ending and said "Screw it, this sucked." Never went back.

You need to get the last two endings. I just skip the weird chicks route(it's bad) and then get the Red Heads' ending. I was damn near bawling at that.

Hmm.... 60$ plus shipping.... Think I got cash the cash but... If it's just 3 hours, neh, not worth it.
If what you say is true, then I'm opting for Phantom since it cheaper and got good reviews. The only real beef is that my only real DVD playing device is in the..... sheesh!, I dunno how to call it in english, sitting room?.. dining room...? Hmm... anyway, it's not in my room, and I'm not planning on using the x360 to read a potentially long VN. Only choice is PC :/

Saya is only 3-4 hours long? That's disappointing...I was looking forward to it, and it's that epically short? I guess if it was TOO long, people might become(even more)demented.

Sorry, but if you feel nothing when playing Kana, then...I'm sad to say, but you're emotionless than me, and I'm someone who never really cared even if a close friend or family member died.

Kana was annoying.

The Main Character was REALLY annoying.

The Girlfriend was the only person there I could stand that actually had a part in the story. And hey, what do you know, THERE'S ONLY THREE PEOPLE IN THE STORY THAT MATTER!

greetings!
I've been a compulsive reader of these forums but was a bit lazy to create an acc til now

to the number of titles that most of you already added, i would recommend yet another one, for fans of lets say..gothic/occultism/fantasy themes!

Animamundi: Dark Alchemist, from Hirameki

after finishing almost 15 visual novels, this is still one of my favorites, although it might be a title more suitable to girls due to some of the themes, and i know there's a couple on these boards!

if you dont mind a bit of shounen ai(well since its hirameki we are talking about, this aint the focus of the story for sure) i believe this game can be as enjoyable as Fate/stay night/Tsukihime for its rich story.

well the synopsis is the following:

if you're familiar with Dr.Faust..then i believe you ll love this one !
