Yeah, it's not perfect, but it drew me in pretty quickly, and I still have 2 routes to go.(Older and younger sister)

Just started it...

It's ok, alot of funny comments made by the main char, but it just got all dark and kind of awkward all of a sudden. You can bang all the girls with no negative consequences...games like those aren't really that fun, to be honest. :P I liked True Love 98, if you slept with another girl, you got shit on like crazy, with possible DEATH threats. :P

Are we talking about the same game?

Indeed the DOS games are rather old skooled now. I mean you had to chose what to do during the sex scenes. It was annoying since you had to chose the same opton a few times beofre it redid the part.

On the up side it seems that many Visual Novels and other ero ero games improved emencely by just letting those scenes go and just giving you te choice to get said secenes.

Well, I have done no research, so I guess I got the good end and all that's left are the pregnant end, various bad ends, and the "family feud" end. Joy.

Woo! Thread was revived!

Trying to get my ass to play Phantom of Inferno (PoI for short). It's just a fuckin' PAIN with PowerDVD, supposedly it's the best one to use, but it seems I always get stuck in the same part....

Just finished Saya No Uta. It was shorter than I expected, but good nonetheless. Pretty good actually... but:

clannad is a complicated VN..its confusing but i think if you did watch the anime, you can go through it..i think you can find a guide at hongfire..not really sure though..dont strain too much by wanting to follow the guide..just enjoy the story :D

Well, the anime just covers the barest minimum of each route excluding the other major events that you need to do to get the good endings. Some routes, like the Kyou route, don't even appear at all.

Clannad is mostly trial-and-error for me. I only used the walkthrough when I got real stuck trying to get the Kyou ending. Here's the one I used: 90-hr walkthrough. Thankfully, it provides hints if you just have problems getting into routes.

I also found a 300 hour walkthrough...it also includes after story, though I'm not completely sure if that is a part of the original game or not, though even wikipedia lists "Clannad" and "Clannad: After Story" on Clannad's article, so I guess both are part of the game.
Well anyway, here is the walkthrough: http://soukyuu.emevas.net/CLANNAD_guide.html

After Story is part of the normal CLANNAD game.

Well for a while there I played three games. One I'll never play again since it was a mistake, and the other one as well. As for the one I'm currently playing I think I would remend it. The game I'm now play is called Snow Sakura and it's a fary good game. I mean it actually feels like a normal Visual Novel then the previous two that I've played of course.

Aside from that another recomendation would be Tears to Taira only for the fact if you liked playing Utawarerumono.

*sigh* I seem to have run through most of the decent games out there. I'm actually a bit surprised at the loads of translated pure-ero games out there -- it's like 5-to-1 for each quality game.

Anyway, been browsing and found some good short VNs. I'm pretty sure you guys know about these already but I recommend Moonshine, though it's subject matter is a little... *ahem*, it still kept me enthralled for the better part of a day. And Ballad of an Evening Butterfly, interesting read but a little hard to wrap your head around.

Porn sells, nothing much to do there. Such a shame that this way the good quality ones are ignored.

Care to elaborate? You know, just so I know if I shall consider to check them out or not.

I'm going through True Remembrance. It's okay for the moment, nothing awesome but nothing crappy. It's a descent read if you got nothing better to do. I think it's free since I was just randomly visting webpages and I found it there, I mean I wasn't even looking for it or any VN. It's about a "Mnemonicide" named Blackiris, his job is to erase memories from people affected by "The Dolor" which you could say is just some kind of emo depressive illness. And about La, his new Guest/patient.

Speaking of free VN, I tried Brass Restoration but only got through the Yui (was that her name? Orange-red hair...) route since she was the only one that truly caught my attention. I like tomboys, go guess. It was so-so but I was particularly annoyed (not really annoyed, but i can't think of another word right now) that music really had nothing to do in the story. It was... just there. "Hey, he likes music" and that's it. If anything, the only problem was that he could not play anymore but you could've done that with any other thing. I won't get too much into it. The only reason I even read it was because I happened to like Yui a bit, were it not for her I would've just erased Brass Restoration.

Then I thought: "Okay, i'll give Minori (?) a chance. At the very least she is kinda funny." Now, I don't know for sure but it seems that i HAVE to go through either Kouri or Senpai's (or both) route( s ) to get to Minori. I'm not the very least interested in any of those and I barely have some interest in Minori to actually through the trouble of obtaining her route. That's it for this VN.

Glad the forums are back.

Sometimes fugliness is interesting. would you mind sharing the name of the first two that you played?

Ok the first two would be Jewel Knights Cursaders. Not recomended unless you like busty girls.

The other Pick Me Honey. Thought it felt like Let's Meow Meow, but ended up feeling like I was playing a highschool version of Do You Like Horny Bunnies, but without the bunnygirls though.
