Media enclosures with MKV support?

Unread postby Danj » May 12th, 2008, 1:59 pm

There are a growing number of external enclosure type devices to which you need only add a hard drive in order to turn it into a media playback device for your TV - stuff like this or this. What I'd like to know is, are there any which support MKV playback, either officially or through modified third-party firmware?

I have one or two spare IDE hard drives which I don't really have space for in any of my systems currently, so it would be handy if I could make use of one in a device like this, but an increasing amount of the content I get is h.264/aac or h.264/vorbis in an MKV container.

I did discover the Popcorn Hour A-100 but it only seems to be available in the US and selected European countries (not including the UK). There are also rumours of an upcoming device from Mvix named the MX-800 which may have MKV capability but I can't find any details on that.
