applocale problem (Vista)

Unread post by Catastrophe » December 18th, 2007, 3:54 am

hi there, i wanted to ask for assistance.

first of all i want to set clear the fact that i did install applocale on XP and played through the whole fate route using it, so no point in the n00b questions.
now into problem:
i've just bought my shining new Windows Vista O.S., most software stayed with no problem, but couldnt find the applocale no matter how hard i seek, so i downloaded it from windows' download site, but couldnt install it.
there's a point when it pops me this error message:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run."

:? :?

so that's it, if someone gets to have an answer i'll be eternally grateful

PS: yeah, tried to download it again but got the same error

You need to start a command console as administrator and then run the .msi installer for applocale in the console. The problem is that the applocale installer is made for XP and doesn't request to be run as admin in Vista, since it doesn't have write to Program Files, it can't install itself.

Did you run the administrator console or the normal one.

Savegames are per-user. Run as that user, or copy the saves dir from the other user's mydocs to yours.
