UBW Translation

Unread post by Beowulf Lee » August 19th, 2007, 1:27 am

Looking at MM's Fate page: http://mirrormoon.org/fate_stay_night it looks like translations on UBW have finished. I have to congratulate Taka Jun on the speedy job. I really did think that progress would have been dragged into the netherworlds of the spacetime continuum after he got high speed internet back.

Are you referring to the change from x% complete to not reading anything now? ^^ Hopefully its a positive sign.

It's still not clear if the UBW route is fully translated, though... That thought is eating me alive x.x

last time i looked the translation was at 95% and now i cant see that anywhere on the site so lets hope the translation is done (crossing my fingers). If the translation is done its just a case of waiting now for typesetting and editing etc but like puKKa said in this post that editing and insertion shouldnt take long.

Does it take long the editing?

tbh things could've been a lot more efficient, as editing could've been done alongside the intial translation process, albeit with a bit lag.

Same with proofreading, but if the translator decided to go over something once again and corrected stuff, I guess it'd waste their work and made them restart.

You guys can edit finished days before the entire translation is complete, right? You should do that with Heaven's Feel.

It's just my guess but I think they have different team member cycling around different projects step by step, it's more efficient then cramp every processes together when none are done. In a sense, this makes sure one's process doesn't lag the others.

In a way I think it's safe too since working your part alone making sure you can take your time and do it at your leasure without having the other member from the other groups breathing down your neck. These guys are doing it for free and out of hobby so I think this is safer for them and for us, as if any of these things happens it can kill their interest, fast.

Don't quote me though, it's just that I worked on team project several times and that the experience I got :P

Yee-haa, it's been a long time since the last time i posted here, got busy recently... *sigh* it's sad when i'm talking like anybody missed me when the truth is nobody cares, LOL.

So i have to say i was utterly impressed by the way you guys work your magic, it's not just about the speed of the work, but the consistency too. Unlike one certain group that has been late more than 1 year from their estimated release date.

Anyway, great job people, good luck in the editing progress and hope everything will turn out fine.
