"Drown to death carrying your dreams"...? It may be just me, but it kinda sounds a little redundant. Is it supposed to be the "Drown in your ideals" line?

Probably the same line. I like how TakaJun translated it, though, and maybe we'll see another contribution to the anime movie scene like there was with KnK from him I hope.

Wow, I haven't checked this site in quite a while (which makes me sad). So I posted back on page 4 or 5 of this thread and mentioned how I'd be in Japan when UBW comes out. Well, here I am, and I had actually completely forgotten about this movie (forced myself to b/c of the long wait). That is, until I went to Akihabara today and met with THIS:
► Show Spoiler
Needless to say I flipped out.

But yea, looks like its getting some pretty nice advertising over here. Hopefully things will go well on the 23rd. So who thinks I should go find out first-hand?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that UBW was prominently displayed on just about every free booklet I saw. Here is a pic of the two that I picked up:
► Show Spoiler
And the contents relating to UBW (about 1/3 of the booklet):
► Show Spoiler

btw this shouldn't be illegal since it was a free handout, right?

Hey Rein, I am tempted to go see it myself as well although I still know very little Japanese. Do you know off-hand if they will have showings on Okinawa at all? I have a feeling since this is not the mainland, we won't get the lesser-known movies. (So far all I have seen at the local theater is American-made movies that are sub-titled and/or dubbed. Although there was a cool 4D movie I saw recently; yes I said 4D, lol)

Sorry, the closest to you is in Fukuoka, which is... a bit of a distance lol.

Also, 4D?!?! B'wuaaaaah?

Damn, I kinda had that feeling about the release. *pouts*

And, I realize this is a bit off-topic but just to clarify, a 4D movie is where you watch the movie in 3D with glasses but you are also sitting in a chair that moves and shakes, water is spit at you, wind is blown at you, and you feel heat during parts of the movie that have those elements to them. It is quite the experience, let me tell you! I highly recommend seeing one =)

Oh wow, that sounds pretty intense. What movie was it? Also, on the UBW movie site (www.fatestaynight.jp) they've announced several UBW goods. Nothing terribly major, but I still want them all XD

This movie looks awesome and all, but where is my Kaladbolg II and what is this newfangled sword that appears in Archer's hands as he prepares a BP?

I know I'm WAY late on this, but I found a better quality version of the 2nd trailer that appears to be in true 720p HD (AKA not upscaled)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XTPiVgf2hQ

And a downloadable version + the subtitles from the English subbed video:
Fate/stay night - Unlimited Blade Works ~ 720p Movie Trailer 2 + subtitles.mkv

Basically, I downloaded the 720p MP4 of the YouTube video in this post, downloaded the MKV torrent of the English subbed video, and then took the subtitles from the MKV, delayed by 1000ms, and muxed it with the MP4.

That video in 720p may have just convinced me to screw all the essays I need to write this weekend and go find tickets and see UBW.

Edit: Alright, it is done. I'll let you all know how the movie is when I get back Saturday afternoon XD

With the near-release of the movie and the release of Firefox 3.6, here are some GAR personas I found (click them for more info and to sample and add them to your Firefox):

...unfortunately, at least with the way I've set up my browser, much of the image is cut off

Well it was pretty much as we had expected. The animation quality was REALLY good. They did cut out a lot of the details, but I felt like there was enough left in that newcomers would still get it. They went through the entire prologue, war explanation, and saber summoning all during the opening credits (~5 minutes). The movie was pretty fast paced, and there were a couple things I was disappointed with: Shirou is just suddenly able to image Kanshou and Bakuya quickly and without explanation (that I could tell), the Shirou vs. Archer fight was a little disappointing since I was expecting Shriou to get much more almost-dead (ex: fusing the swords to his hands because he couldn't hold them anymore), and Berserker kind of got shafted in his last-stand scene (it was cool but not nearly as epic as in the VN). As expected, the fights were all amazing, and Berserker's speed was much more accurately represented. As for the H-scene, there was no CG dragon this time, though there were CG dolphins :D At least the dolphins were only on screen for a second, were good quality, and the scene was actually a pretty good replacement. Oh, and for those wondering, it was the True Ending. Though, from what I could tell there was no mention of going off to London. Overall, I really liked it and I think they probably couldn't have done any better given the 104 minutes they had.

Also, after the movie the VAs for Shirou, Rin, and Archer stood up front and talked about stuff. What they talked about, I have no idea lol. People were laughing pretty frequently and I'm not quite sure what they were talking about at the time, but Rin's VA definitely said the words "Sakura route" at one point. Doesn't really mean anything without the context, but at least it was interesting seeing and hearing the VAs.

Yea, I knew it was going to be using the Realta Nua version, but I haven't actually seen it so I didn't know if they were originally there or not. And yea, dolphins suit Rin much better than dragons :P
