no, technically, we all have to go to jail after reading all f/sn routes (except ilya route, if there's any). why?
because saber is 14-16, rin is 17, sakura is 16. only ilya is 18.

LAALALALALALALA!!! LIES!!!!
There is a disclaimer saying every character is over 18 in the beginning of the game!!

But really, it does make sense.... They are, after all, still in high school....
So, that would mean that the hot shampoo sex is with an 18 year old Sakura.... Hmmm....
I must ponder over this matters...!

Yeah, fuck that shit! They are of age in Japan, so it's not so out of the ordinary! It would be unusual if the characters were actually of or over 18.

Anyway, kidding aside, it oes rise a question. Why did they even bother to put that disclaimer to begin with? Also, I think that Saber is over 16. Wasn't it said that the king stopped aging after... well, becoming king. It can't be otherwise, how the hell are you gonna rise a country in less than 10 years!!??

HF > UBW > Fate

HF = Nine Lives Blade Works - Too badass and also the knife plunged into saber's chest ouch!

UBW = The UBW - its old but its still awesome

Fate - its rubbish. Fails in my opinion

Unlimited Blade Works by far was my favorite F/SN scenario. It encompassed everything I wanted to happen in F/SN...and Rin... ...ahem, as I was saying.

The developments between Shirou and Rin during UBW was 1/2 of the reasons UBW was my favorite route - the other half was just the sheer awesomeness of battles that took place.

I can't say exactly how I feel yet about Heaven's Feel. I liked it, hated it, liked it, hated it, and ended up thinking it satisfactory (True End)... somethings occurred that just pissed me off.
My innocent Sakura-chan...is depicted as a semen receptacle in both past and present...
But despite that, Dark Sakura is hawt.

And the Fate route just wasn't doing it for me. and when the Anime was done as an amalgam of all 3 Routes... YET ultimately following up with the Fate Route just irked me to no end. I seriously doubt it would be done, but a re-take of Fate Stay Night using a different amalgamation (and involving Dark Sakura) would be great.

The saving grace for Fate has to be the ending, it makes you forget all about how hard Shirou fails for the past 2 weeks.

UBW, I have read too much spoiler and this sort of ruined it. Read it mostly for "King of Heroes, do you have enough swords!?" I think the plot is well thought out. The confront yourself, confront your ideals theme.

Heaven's Feel finally made Shirou an interesting character. The surrender your ideal for the one you love part... Shirou made a choice as himself for the first time.

people keep screaming over fate shirou while ubw shirou is clearly more childish than ever... fate shirou pursued his ideals because it's beautiful, not because some childish reasoning like "I know what I will become if I go down that path, and the fact that you're tring to warn me makes me even more radical in pursuing that path! so shut up already!" *slaps archer in the face*
UBW Shirou thought exactly the same thing as Fate Shirou in that respect. Edit: Archer was the one who said the ideal was beautiful. And since Archer's hate for Shirou is based in Shirou being the same as how he was, it naturally follows that Shirou thinks the same. It's probably flawed to think that Shirou doesn't think the same thing. Excepting HF, I don't really see Shirou changing from Fate to UBW with regards to how he views his ideal.
Edit 2: Oh, right, Shirou does say himself that he thought the ideal was beautiful later in that fight. I thought I saw it somewhere, but I jumped on too early a quotation and then thought I was completely wrong when it was Archer's line.

Hmm, has the smoke cleared and dust settled?

Currently 23 to 12 from UBW to HF? Is that the final result too? Quite unexpected from me, I have to say; really thought HF was gonna be popular. Strange, huh?

because saber is 14-16, rin is 17, sakura is 16. only ilya is 18.

Why is that? Legal age is 16...

EDIT: Oh wait, thats not the case in the americas is it?

Though sex at 16 is fine here, its illegal to watch porn until you're 18, lol...

Saber is at least 26 years old. Remember that after she took the sword she never gets old and she ruled England for 10 years (plus she seems about Shirou?s age so put 16+10=26 years old as human) ...In that sense is the older main character. No idea of Rider`s age but shes the only that can be older than Saber
In that sense Saber is similar to Ciel and ilya : They are older than their bodies look like

I actually thought that Saber seemed a bit younger, but it's anime style and calculating age is impossible in this stuff.... So yeah, I agree in that Saber gotta be around 26 years old.

On the other hand, I think Caster is the oldest of the female characters. We don't know how Medea died, she could have most likely died of old age if we follow the myth and came back as Caster in FSN looking a lot younger. Medusa was raped by Poseidon then killed less than a year later by Perseus, before that she was a maiden in a temple (that tells me she was a young girl). In other words, Caster is older than Rider. For all we know, Saber could even be older than Rider!

If you start Fate/stay night, one of the first things said is "All characters appearing in this game are at least 18 years old" (some seem to like to "overread" that *lol*)...
So no need to discuss if there are any problems with underaged here.

in actual age, saber must be at least 40. but in body (and a girl's mind), she's around 14-16. she stopped aging since she pulled caliburn out of the rock. and shirou definitely said saber is younger than him, so... yeah.

When all is said and done, my favorite route is Fate.
...

Who the hell likes Rin anyway?
And Sakura... well, saku-I mean HF would be the second route i liked the most

Im almost sure that she was king for 10 years. Since she became king when she was young (15-16) is impossible that shes 40 years old. More like mid 20`s most likely

Heaven's Feel is my favorite route, I was moved to tears on more than one occasion, which is actually pretty unusual for me. You go through the direst and most hopeless lows, sacrifice everything, and pull through to the happiest ending.

That being said, Rin and not Sakura, is my new waifu.

Personally i didnt enjoy too much Heavens Feel. Many parts are interesting/good, but Shirou's change is so radical that it seems out of character totally.
One thing is to try to save Sakura bending his beliefs a bit and other is saying "Fuck the entire city, instead trying to help people ill let them die as long as the villain is my loved person".

I find too much to believe than a person who is almost fanatic on his beliefs drops his ideal and spits on it like that.

As heavens Feels progress Sakura sinks deeper and deeper in her darkness and Shirou keeps not doing anything against her even if the situation is clearly out of hand.

In Fate he follows the purest ideal, a childish vision that will never come true, an uthopy

Unlimited Blade Works he follow his ideal but he adapts it to the reality

A person can retort his conduct code if the situation is needed, but he should never break it completely and abandon it for something almost opposite...
In history those are called traitors and betrayers, no matter if someone does it for good or for evil, in the end he just have betrayed

I'm wondering if I readed the same game...

UBW Shirou never adapted the ideal to reality, only defied fate. But he will probably end killing a lot of people even so (well, maybe didn't end as Archer thanks to Rin).

In HF he choose his feelings in spite of the borrowed cursed ideal. That's not really OOC, that's character developement, for better or worse.

I have to say I liked UBW the best. I loved the fights and even though Rin and Shirou's relationship developed slowly, I liked it the most. Lancer also had many more appearances in this route and quickly jumped up the ranks to one of my favorite characters. I laughed so hard in conversation between Lancer, Rin, and Shirou. The true ending of UBW was my all-time favorite ending simply because it seems that Rin and Shirou are going to move on in life together whereas in the good ending it gives the impression that they are gonna be in that town forever and never really go anywhere in life. I think my biggest disappointment with this route is when Shirou doesn't actually get to finish of Gilgamesh with his own blade. The fight itself though was truly epic and win. The second best fight was Lancer vs Archer and Archer vs Shirou comes in third.
Edit: I also think its quite admirable to be able to pursue an ideal so strongly and to never falter even in the face of defeat. "If you walk down the path that you believe is right, you cannot be wrong." Has to be my favorite quote from the game.

As for the the HF route, I loved the fights, but I didn't like the route overall. I found it hard to like and feel sorry for Sakura (as someone else stated earlier) until the very end where she is confronting Rin. The part I hated the most was that (even though it made perfect sense) Shirou lost his memories at an exponential rate in exchange for power (even though he regained them in the True end because memories are recorded by the soul as well). Also, another thing I didn't like was (another thing stated by another person) how Shirou dropped his ideal that he had been chasing for 10 years so easily. It takes a lot to change a person's nature, and I didn't exactly feel like that happened in HF. Aside from Berserker vs Shirou, my favorite battle was Shirou vs Dark Saber in one of the dead-ends because he was super-badass.

I really think the anime ruined the Fate route for me. I liked the battles animated, but when I was watching the anime, I was spoiled so much on the other routes that I had hoped for the anime to follow a different path and had my hopes betrayed. Not to mention the down-times in the anime (where they just sit and talk) seemed more boring and dragged out than the down-times in the game. I also felt that some of the characters weren't accurately portrayed in the anime (something that happened in Shingetsutan Tsukihime). Saber showed more emotion in the game than in the anime, and Shirou also seemed more likeable in the game than the anime. I could never manage to play through the entire Fate route in the game (well, I skipped a lot) because I knew what had happened from the anime. Not only that, but the fights weren't very epic except for the final battle (kick to the face + Avalon ftw).

Anyway, I'm new to the forum. Dozo Yoroshiku, minna-san.

If he dropped it that way, was because that's his real feelings and the ideal was only a false one. Archer said in UBW that even if it's a fake, that ideal it's his only emotion. Seems that in HF he was able to sacrifice it for his own feelings that he developed.

Feelings are something completely different than a person's nature. Shirou's beliefs, way of life, and foundation are all based on the ideal of being a superhero. He was reborn into such a person when he was saved by Kiritsugu. Even though he loved Sakura, I don't see how he could so easily change himself. Such a change occurs over an extended period of time or in a traumatizing event that would shatter your foundations (something that would take a long while to recover from).
