When I try to install the fix, I get an error message "Deletion of existing files failed. Possibly the game is still running. Please restart the installation procedure after closing the game"

...Except the game isn't open...

OS: Windows XP, SP3, English locale (Australia)
F/SN Game Version: 3.1, 3CD version, with RN Voices from Standard Edition, Quickfix installed
Previous FSN Experience: No problems up to version 2.0

Error description:
Upon trying to change fonts, a small error screen pops up (no text, just a rectangle taller than it is wide) with an OK button. When trying to change fonts, I have to press 'Cancel' in the configuration screen, and thus cannot change anything.
When running under Applocale, the error message is as follows:

Workaround:
Deleting datasc.ksd and datasc.ksd.last

Result of Workaround:
All save files preserved, route completion preserved, weapons info preserved, status info preserved, CG preserved, Taiga Stamps preserved, game time reset, all save files may loaded and configuration changed.

Please note that the first two have UBW completed, while the last one has HF completed (there are some save points which were done when it was in Japanese, but they still load fine).

EDIT: This error is not fixed, has been reported by others.
When loading a certain save point, the BG of the scene loads up, but further clicking sends me back to the main window.

I got this error while installing the game using both v3 and 3.1

Error opening file for writing:

C:\Windows\Fonts\monakrkr.ttf

Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file.

Nothing too serious since I just click on ignore and it works. Just thought you would like to know. Running Vista, voiced version, CD version, Version 178.13 nvidia driver.

Yeah, I had this too. Uninstalled the UBW patched version and then re-installed using the 3.0 patch install, and its fine. Just don't delete your saves from before when you uninstall and then re-install in same directory. They still work fine, which is good, considering I had a Day 4 Sakura save ready for use; I'd have been a bit irate if I'd of had to play Fate and UBW again...not that they're bad, but I know it would consume at least another 2 weeks of my time... :twisted:

Also, I see the debug console even though I've got the 3-CD version with no voices (can't afford Realta Nua, heh) I don't really care about it much, and I soon grew to just ignore it, but I thought I should point out that you state 3.1 to fix this is only neccessary to fix the voiced version... Not so.

Edit: Sorry, yeah I should clarify I haven't installed 3.1 yet since I'm not bothered about the console. It'll probably work; but I'm tired right now (damn, I really played for 7 hours straight? ) Running an old Athlon 1900 with XP if that makes any difference.

I tested with insani extractor and saw the following:

Additionally, in the Voice patch the previously noted CTRL speedthrough of the Rider choice dialogue on Day 9 has made a repeat appearance. Or it just doesn't like my (old) save file.

Hello all!!

First of thumbs up for you guys, great work! You really made my day when the heavens feel translation was finally done. Although there is a little problem:

I had to install FSN om my operating system a second time, meaning i did not have any savefiles left. Being enthusiastic i decided to play both routes over again. Everything went smoothly, but there is a point in the game that i hit a bump:

The point in the UBW route when Shirou beets Archer, and then gigalmesh decides to attack


Where the game gives me this warning:

Playing the CDrom version (3 disc version)
English patch 3.1
Playing with realta nua voice insertion

I am having the same problem as wiseonekenobi, where after the fight of Emiya vs. Archer in UBW, Gilgamesh attacks, you run away, then you get this message.

If you click ok, the back screen doesn't change, but no text or sounds appear with clicking or button pressing.

You can still access the menu with the right click.

I installed the game using the v.3.1 installer, and have voices installed as well. I am running windows vista, on a new laptop. I don't know what to do to get past this part so I can play HF.

I started off today with no save files or anything, having had my old computer with all of the data on it wiped out a month ago.

^^^ I have the exact same problem at the exact same scene.... that makes us three -_-

I get the windows message labeled "information" and after clicking OK the game freezes only letting me access the right click menu.
Dont know if is relevant but I didnt have a cleared UBW save before installing v3.1

I updated the UBW patch with the v3.1 installer and ran the quickfix.
Windows XP sp2
CD-ROM Version of FSN
Voiced Version

Any ideas?

EDIT: I decided to try using the old v2.0 installer without uninstalling. After installing, the error message no longer came up, and it allowed me to continue. After that, I reinstalled the v3.1 installer to see if the problem was fixed, and going through the same scene again, the error no longer comes up. I guess that you need to use both installers. This created a few save game troubles, but going back to an earlier saved game corrected the problem.

I got the same message when I was upgrading. I just chose ignore and the installation went smoothly. I have tested the voice files and no glitches to report. However, just wondering if this problem is a cause of worry further down the track...?

You probably already had the font installed, that's why it didn't work.

Just a really minor thing but on day 15 of Fate, during 'Intermission - Saber, to the church' there is a minor page glitch where the three line paragraph starting with "...Honestly, this is a big change in her thinking." is not moved to its own page. Causing the very last line which is the last half of the second sentence to be put on a page of its own since the first page filled up. The scroll back log has it correct though.

During Installation of the 3.1 patch I get an invalid file error when I put the Realta Nua disc in. The voice patch never installs.

1) Give more details. Your operating system, your windows locale, CD or DVD version, voiced or unvoiced, the circumstances, what you did to make it break, what you did to make it work.

2) Keep posting please, we want to make this game work for everyone. So even if you fixed your problem, we want to know about it.

OK, i'll explain my situation... Actually, it's just like SilentChaos87 said. When I try to install the fix after insatllation of v3.1, I get a message "Deletetion of existing files failed, possibly the game is still running. If the text block has not been read you cannot access it normally (via read through or skip through):

you also cannot access it by means of loading a save to the choice at the end of the block: Image

If your save data acknowledges that it has been read you can skip past it. You still cannot load from a save that references the choice if that save was saved during a normal readthrough (and not at after a skip-through).

Furthermore: This text block cannot be extracted using insani's tools, nor using Susie. insani's tools give the following error

while susie just proclaims that the file transfer cannot be completed because the file cannot be read.

Workaround: Fake using an unvoiced install by exitting the game and renaming your patch4.xp3 to patch4.xp3.bak. You will be able to read through the affected text block without voices. After you have finished, you may return to using the voiced install by exitting the game and renaming your patch back to patch4.xp3.

Hi I've got a problem with the Heavens Feel Route
No matter which choices I made , everytime I choose "Take Sakura home"
it isn't me who takes her home , its always Fuji-nee who takes her home
I made following Choices:
1.)Help Sakura
2.)Go to Work
3.)Take Sakura home

Dunno whats wrong :?: Its always Nee-chan who takes SAkura home..
A Savegame at the spot where SHIROU takes her home would help me ALOT..
Do I have to uninstall v2.0 first before I get the 3.1Patch?

If deleting files fails, it most probably means the files are in use. Have you tried rebooting your machine?
