F/SN UBW route storyline question (SPOILER!)

Unread postby seele » July 18th, 2008, 9:53 pm

Hello everyone,

first of all, I only read the Fate route so far.

I seem to remember an image of a bound Saber from the UBW route. If that means what I think it might (from how I remember that image) I don't even want to read UBW.
Therefore my question: is she "just" captured or does she actually get violated? Or maybe the image I have in mind isn't even from UBW? Please try not to spoil too much though.

I already know HF isn't for me, which is a pity since - being the final route and all - it'll probably explain the backgrounds and real nature/reasons behind the Grail Wars and everything. I really don't get why the Japanese are so obsessed with rape, I just can't stand it, not even in fiction.

"Just" captured, if I remember correctly.

In HF you didn't get actually to see any rape. They only implied things that happened. In Fate/stay night, the only sexual relationships are Shirou -> the girls.

You can read all of the game without fear, really. No explicit scenes like that.

Thanks for the answers.

Actually, references or implications in that direction are bad enough when they concern moe characters of a story you spend days to read. I think it's easier to stomache in some random crime story TV film.

Tsukihime
was the same except for that Mystic Eyes scene in some alley in Arcueid's path (Shiki came to in time anyways), if memory serves. Still, the far side of the moon paths at times were pretty hard for me to swallow.

Well, ok, but Fate/stay night is soft in that regard. There are really far far far far worst things in another eroges.

So you play a japanese porn game and are afraid of their cliches? *confused* it's just fiction, but it's a pitty if you think that way , you won't be able to stand HF.

It's not a rape scene, it's a scene targeted at the Sadism crowd. If the idea making a girl suffer until she's obedient offends you, just skip the scene. (for the record, it never actually happens. It's just a character watching bondaged Saber suffer and musing about what was going to happen after she submits. The scene can be skipped without affecting the plot)

If you're into that kind of thing, it's easily the most well-written ero scene in the game.

Ill spoiler this =)
So far nothing really happens, Caster abducts saber using rule breaker on shiro. When she takes her away, Saber becomes the servant of Caster. Since saber will not comply with caster, she is invoking command spells after command spells on her to gain her control. The scene you saw was just her resisting the spell. Caster gets a satisfaction out of watching her struggle, but nothing more

Caster used Rule Breaker on Saber, not Shirou.

...No, if used on Shirou, Rule Breaker would most likely
remove Avalon from his body; or, rather, return his body to the state it was in before Avalon was implanted in his body.

Wouldn't the result be as Caster wishes it to be?? i mean using it on Saber could have had other effects like disability of Excalibur??

Rule Breaker is an Anti-Bond spell basically. If I remember correctly, it basically cancels out magical bonds. Meaning: MasterXServant or ShirouXAvalon.

It CANNOT seal excalibur to my knowledge and likewise is NOT dependent on the mana of the user.
That is something the (insanely) craptastical anime thought up.

Rule Breaker is supposed to cancel magical effects, but as I understand it, it does not break noble phantasms, because they are "real" (as in not the product of magic). Say Sabre's Excalibur got stabbed, the barrier of the wind king will be dispelled, but she can still hit Caster with an Excalibur blast. The only case I can think of in which Rule Breaker can break stuff is in the case of Archer. Stabbing anything Archer projects will break it, because it is returned to its previous non-magical state, which is "nothing".

But Shirou does get stabbed in the back with Rulebreaker in the fate route. He gets a nasty wound but nothing special happens.

Well Rule Breaker is still a knife, it still hurts to be stabbed especially since he's human.

Two hypotheses for "nothing happened to Shirou":
1. Avalon offers protection from all magic, even the five great sorcery (partially effective? As the wound healing ability manifests, but not the "moving fortress" main effect).
2. "My body is made of swords."

3. In order to break any contract Shirou should have been directly stabbed on his command spell instead of some other random non-magical, unbound body part.

To hit his spine and expect some dispelling effect is like hitting the ground in order to dispell
Archer's contract with the world.
In the other hand, the whole Saber is an entity of magical energy bond by a contract so any place would do. And, about hitting NPs and dispelling them a la Gae Dearg, read please:

Type moon wiki wrote:Rule Breaker

An iridescent and jagged dagger with no exceptional offensive properties, though it possesses the unique ability of dispelling any sorcery cast upon a pierced target. This knife reduces enchantments, sorcerous contracts, and spiritual bodies to their component materials. However, Rule Breaker is ineffective against other Noble Phantasms.
