Hello as you see im new here and i want to download the game :D
I install the game "Fate-stay night English v2" from the website
When i open it and try to install it, it says "Please specify the location of the Japanese game CD or DVD"
Does this mean i have to download the japanese game version first then download the english v2?

No, you have to BUY the japanese game, then install.

Yes. You aren't allowed to use the patch in an illegal copy of Tsukihime, Fate Stay Night, or any other stuff translated by Mirror-Moon (and almost any other translation group as far as I know). To know where to get a copy of F/SN or Tsukihime you can check some of the threads at their respective sub-forums. Once you get a LEGAL copy of the game (aka: buying the original stuff) you download the patch, insert the disc into your driver (or make an image of it with some program and mount it, but that's other story [yes, that's legal, as long as you make an image of your OWN copy]) then run the patch and just follow the instructions.

P.S: READ the readme file.

It's funny how many people seem to think that the 60mb patch is the actual game. The game itself is close to 2gb.

Im just gonna give them a benefit of a doubt..

You know? There ARE some gomes out there that are freeware and translated VNs...
Im just gonna believe that they have never heard of FSN as an anime... And only assumed that FSN is freeware when browsing some website/blog consisting a list of VNs... Both free and commercial

Well, as far as morals go, you CAN use a torrent to download the actual game and play it, just don't come to this forum asking and talking about it :P What you do to get it will solely act upon you and your life. :D

DISCLAIMER: I'm not supporting piracy in any way.

I think what he wants to say is, despite the anti-piracy all over here and there, you "can" (as in, are able to. not "may", but "able to") download it. however, don't expect a kind attitude from everyone here in mirror moon after that.

okay, back to topic : you ought to own (as in, buy it. beware of bootleg copies, though, as frequently warned.) the game first (the 2 gb game) before you could apply mirror moon's translation. it's as simple as that.

Gee, thread necromancy.

AND YOU'RE ALSO COMPLETELY WRONG. There is no need to install the game, you just need to run the patch and point it at the original game disc(s)!
