Tsukihime PLUS-DISC

Unread postby URB » April 10th, 2007, 2:32 pm

What is really on the PLUS-DISC of Tsukihime?

Wikipedia talks about three sides story. Is this an add-on to the game with three more paths?

It contains wallpapers, update patch for Tsukihime game, Kara no Kyoukai (upto chapter 4), 2 extra stories (one big story and one omake-like chit-chat thing), store demo, web page version demo, and trial version of the game.

I think some side stories were also added in the Tsukibako version of the Plus disc

In which form are the sides stories (text or include in the game Tsukihime) and is it already translated in the release of Tsukihime English?
What does the patch do in fact?

(sorry for that many questions)

The side stories are not translated. The Tsukihime English installer installs an English version of Tsukihime and copies some required files from your Tsukihime CD, nothing more, nothing less. I don't know how the sidestories are implemented, but I would expect them to be visual novels just as Tsukihime itself is.

I don't think Mirror Moon or Revolve are planning to do so anytime soon. But oh well, I'm not part of the staff so I wouldn't know.

Some members from Beast's Lair are working on Kagetsu Tohya right now; they might look like they'd be willing to translate the Plus-Disc (Or maybe the Plus+Disc).

Kara no Kyoukai is a novel written by Kinoko Nasu (the man who wrote the script for Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night and generally had the idea which started them) before he was known for creating Tsukihime. It's set in the same world as Tsukihime, though as usual there isn't much overlapping story content, which is somewhat of a shame in my opinion, since I wouldn't mind a few character cameos once in a while. Mirror Moon has graciously translated a few of the chapters of Kara no Kyoukai on their homepage if you want to read it in English, actually.
"They marched onwards, fire against earth, bodies piling ever higher for the whims of rival demons, content in their game. The masses never questioned their intent nor knew their masters, serving Hell more than Heaven in their madness. For madness went unchallenged here, and the great machine of many faces, skins, and thoughts continued to turn in silence."

I'm not quite sure if this belongs here, but I had a feeling it was from Kara no Kyoukai.. I keep hearing people talking about characters that sound like relatives of the Nanaya family aside from Shiki. Are they from Kara no Kyoukai?

If you're talking about Kiri Nanaya, then the only game I've seen him in is Kagetsu Tohya, and in a sidestory (which was awesome.)

You might get confused with Ryougi Shiki though, the main chara in Kara no Kyoukai.

I thought Kyoukai was a novel, not a game... Or do you have to make choices like in Tsukihime? And I hope they do translate the PLUS-DISC material!

"iirc" is short for "If I recall correctly"... Either that or it's some new breed of evil IRC network chat client :P.

Lol, I see now. Well... Can anyone tell me what the fan-made sequel to Tsukihime is again? I've totally forgotten the name, lol.

Fan-made? Dunno, maybe it's the mythological Tsukihime 2. XD.

Buuuut. There's Kagetsu Tohya, the direct sequel. IIRC it happens 1 year after the Tsukihime events. There's also Melty Blood, the 2D Fighter game which I believe follows next in line after Kagetsu Tohya.
