Ero / Non-ero separation

Unread post by Sprint » December 6th, 2006, 12:37 am

I had a random thought while installing the updated patch; why not merge the ero / non-ero versions and use a variable to separate them instead?

Basically, if the variable is set, branch to the non-ero scene and return to the appropriate point afterwards. The first time the game is run it would ask which way you want it, and it could be changable from the options screen somewhere.

The scripting engine is certainly capable of it, and it'd make it easier to keep track of the two versions, as well as allow saves to work properly between them, so I don't see the need for a split installation.

We've thought about that, but decided that it wasn't worth the trouble. It would require extensive playtesting and that would be a lot of time wasted.

This was my thought originally when Message had the idea for the non-ero patch, but we both deemed it unfeasible.
