So, I'm playing the game on Arcueid route, yadiyadiyada....And I come up to the scene where after defeating Chaos, Arcueid is in Shiki's room and she is all over him...So I'm thinking "Well, at least i dont see it".
And then BAM! I come up to the most horrible looking picture possible with

What were you thinking? TYPE-MOON/mirrormoon?

So, how much were you surprised when you saw these "scenes" in tsukihime? Honestly, its a LOT worse than Utawarerumono

...y-you're joking, right?

Tsukihime is an eroge, or 'erotic game'. What did you expect?

Also, I believe there's an all-ages version somewhere, too.

I had a low perception of eroges before I played Tsukihime, so at first I was kind of surprised that it didn't happen earlier in the game >_>

I knew that it was an eroge but... after I played it for so long, it came as a surprise that it happened. But it was much better with this one. I mean, at least it had something to do with the story and didn't feel awfuly forced like in so many other cases!! *coughDisciplinecough*

I saw it coming, since i knew it was an erogame...

Granted, the CGs are a bit crude. However i know they will be amazing in the remake.

Don't know about Utawa... that. Never got interested.

From both Fate and Tsukihime I think in general, type moon games have a lot of buildup before those scenes happen. Which overall makes it bearable but also reasonable to happen when they do and actualy follow the plot.

By the way, does anyone else get hungry while reading some of them?

Even though I knew about those scenes, I won't lie about being taken aback by them.
I guess it was the art style... not that it was bad or anything like that though.

I like the art style used. I find them very classy and not generic "Dang, let's bang!" style you see in so many Eroges. I feel emotional depth in them.

On the other hand, perhaps because they are actual depictions of how sex is, and not just yer generic Super hot girl with guy who has infinite stamina and can preform amazing sex acts his first time, type, which so many people like these days.

Despite my favorite characters being the maids, I'd have to say that Arcueid's H-scene was the only one in the game with a suitable lead-up and not something ridiculously and obviously forced unless I'm completely forgetting something from Akiha's because I don't remember hers. It's a culmination of the romantic tension between Shiki and Arcueid, and there's not really much else to it. See spoiler tag to see why that's a good thing here.

Meh I was expecting it. I mean for some reason my ero senses were tingling when I got up to that first point. Although I have to admit it was crude, but it was Type-Moon's first major work that got them noticed.

I don't like most of Type-Moon's H-scenes.
Most of them are absolutely not a pleasure to read since they're usually connected to a kind of sudden unsensitive behavior of the protagonist and a lot of pain for the girl.

Well there is that or the whole ero ero scene being described in seafood manner as well. Sometimes I wonder when they wrote those scenes they were eating seafood or what there for them to write something like that, but then againthis is Nasu we're taling about ehre so his writing style is rather unique none the less.

When I was young like the OP (:p) I thought half the game would be ero scenes.

But yes they suck balls literally and must die.

I think that Akiha's scenes were less forced than Arcueids.

If I remember correctly of course. I seem to forget parts of the game ^^;;

Everybody has different views about eroge before they try I guess. I expected tsukihime to be an eroge with a good story, so I did expect some H-scenes that were not that relevant to the story. I guess its not weird to have a sex scene in the end if they get happy together, its not like we don't do that in real life or anything :) Though the scenes themselves are obviously written to be 'erotic' and not to make sense :) I felt like reading some cheap porn story the first time haha. If only nasu could be as good in his H-scenes as with the rest of the story xD

I have to admit that with some stories I was generally looking forward to the h-scenes :) It just means the build-up was done right ^^

Y'know, while this topic is here, here's something super trivial that's always, always bothered me.

Where do Shiki's glasses go during the H-scenes and why?

He takes them off so he can see the weakest point in their body. Lol XD

Makes you wonder what happens if he accidentally stabs his "spear" in the wrong place >.>

At any rate, I actually hope they remove the H-scenes from the remake. Nasu is awesome and all that, but the H-scenes are awkward, to say the least. I for one am very grateful that Mahoutsukai no Yoru is going to be ecchi-free~
