confused on the story

Unread postby Masou » January 4th, 2008, 3:21 am

Well the anime and manga seem to have generally the same storyline, almost.

What about the Game? is there a manga or something that goes along with the story of the game?
seems kinda odd to make a game that has absolutely nothing to do with Tsukihime yet uses some of the characters.
I've been wondering this for a long time, and It would be nice if there was a manga or anime or something to go along the games storyline

Err... A bit of confusion about your question as well. Basically there is a manga of Tsukihime, which is based off the anime of it (something something Tsukihime, or Lunar Legend Tsukihime), which basically follows Arc's True Ending, with a mix of other routes (if I'm correct).

seems kinda odd to make a game that has absolutely nothing to do with Tsukihime yet uses some of the characters.
Uhh, I'm guessing you're talking about MB. There is also a manga based on MB, and since I can't read Jap, I prefer not to open the seal it, so I have no idea what that's about.

I lol'd. The Tsukihime anime was....okay...when I had no idea what Tsukihime was. Also Melty Blood is part of the storyline. A Supposedly it takes place after Satsuki's True End, which doesn't exist (although I wish it did). Not a lot to tell about it except basically the plot is Sion came to town looking for a DA to kill and then from then on it takes along different routes depending on which battles you win or lose, except the last battle or two of each route. The story mode's story is kind of short and I don't think really compares to the five routes in Tsukihime but it's pretty good. Especially the bottom route, whatever it's called :D.
Also I would have thought Tsukihime would be added to the spell checker's dictionary, this being a board for it and all.

um, i've played all the melty blood games, but i havent had any of them translated. Im waiting until the translation is out for Act Cadenza.
And I somewhat liked the Tsukihime anime. The manga is better though.
And i also just found a scanlated (fansubbed) version of the melty blood manga as well, though i have yet to read it.
All i know is it takes place AFTER the original Tsukihime game.
Summary:
The story is one of two side-story sequels that occurs approximately a year after the good ending story of Arcueid's from the original Type-Moon game, Tsukihime.

One year has pass since the 'Serial Vampire Homicide case' was solved with both the deaths of Nero (Nrvnqsr) Chaos and Roa/Shiki Tohno. But now the rumors of the serial murder are happening again and so once again Shiki Tohno patrols the city to find this phantom killer. While patrolling he meets and fights a mysterious woman by the name of Sion Eltnam Atlasia, member of the church group 'Alchemist of Atlas', whom is in search of curing vampirism. But to do so she needs data from Arcueid, the last True Ancestor, to help her in her research. But this wont be easy as Ciel is also patrolling the city looking for the rumor killer, while Akiha has been acting strangely the past few days and also Arcueid hasn't been seen for awhile, could she be the killer...?

------
so since i never had the original game translated, i was basing the story off the anime, assuming Arcueid was dead :/

If you wait for the Act Cadenza translation then you won't be able to read the storyline since Act Cadenza has no story mode, just Arcade, survival and a vs. with tag and team. Also you've probably heard this a billion times but the best is the Tsukihime visual novel after all. Oh and if Melty Blood is also 1 year after then it's practically right after Kagetsu Tohya?

Uhh..............

Masou wrote:likewise, what is kagetsu tohya?

Kagetsu Tohya is a sequal based uhh.... *searches oh-so-trustworthy Wiki* One year after the events of Tsukihime. The story is that you're stuck in a dream that repeats over and over again. Over time you unlock the mysteries of why this is happening and other stuff which fall into spoilers.

I'm not sure if you read Crest's post properly as well, but I'll just re-state that Act Cadenza does NOT have a story mode. So if you're waiting for the translation, you'll need either the original Melty Blood, or Melty Blood Re-Act, then download the translations, available from your local mirrormoon website.

About the Tsukihime anime (what AM I talking about), I thought this pic would be relevant (you'll have to stretch it yourself)

If you buy MBR you'll also have to buy MB. MBR is an expansion, not a sequel.

So with this post I will assume that in the first post you are wondering about the Tsukihime game that you thought had nothing to do with Tsukihime anime/manga at all but uses its characters?

Let's get this straight. Tsukihime anime is based on the visual novel game and covers only about 1/5 of the story from the game with some elements mixed in and changed some elements that was in the game, which is why it had received many hate among the Type-Moon fans.

The manga is based on the anime (or the game, I don't know) and possibly will cover the whole 5 route in the game (from what 've seen, it might be). It also changes some parts of the game but it is more accepted among Type-Moon fans.

The game is an adult visual novel game which consist 5 routes of different story and different main girl in focus. Generally divided as Near side and Far side of the moon. This is the original and the anime is based on this game (the manga too I guess).

poor guy (from what I can read, though it's damn small). Typical for those nasty arcueid watchers... what can you seen on her? Kohaku is better in every way.

There is no tsukihime anime, amv maybe (isn't it called MAD, since it was produced by Japaneses.. anyway) with pretty nice art, stupid adaptation story and bad end (with a lot of action scene missing) made by people who run out of money = FAIL.

Anyway game is the best, manga is okay, eromanga adaptations are great too. And tsukihime is porn with plot, remember? 8)

I prefer to think of it as a good plot with a little ero thrown in to spice it up.

I don't think it's like that, it's not a full-porn-centered story (Ex: X-change series), it's more like a story where the guy and the girl actually get it on, unlike a "so they holded hands and lived happily ever after" kind of story. In that aspect it is a bit more realistic... or direct.(not that i care about that).

Kohaku is shining through her and you can't possibly see her. Not my bad :D

I'm sorry, you are not allowed to use our translations on illegally downloaded copies of the games. I think I told you this before. Please buy the games, or don't play our translations.
