The remake has been announced, but as far as I know there's no release date whatsoever.

Absolutely not. Heck, there's not even any word on whether this will have an official release INSIDE of Japan.

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Yes, Tsukihime only skips scenes that you've already seen. There's no risk in skipping things. Personally I preferred to ctrl-skip through stuff though, so I can still see what's going on, and maybe read stuff I didn't pay attention to before.

Re: Who you like more, Shiki or Shirou? [spoilers]

personally, i like Shirou more, in Tsukihime, you can see Tohno being a real jerk sometimes "in bed" with all female protagonists , LOL !!!! This part is on-topic, and I kind of agree with you. The following part, however, is NOT on-topic. And it's also against the powerlevel rule: http://forums.mi...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

That next choice, (Go with Arcueid or Go to School) I think I stopped just after making the 'correct' choice, does the alternative lead to another dead end? I am trying to 'collect' those, even if you don't get anything for it like in F/sn. Partly because I hypothesize a minor plot thread that was ...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

As you can see in the flowchart, choosing Go see Arcueid leads directly into a dead end (s161, s107, s107a). Choosing to Obey Akiha allows you to continue along the storyline. I don't remember about the circumstances. Your explanation is as good as mine. You'll have to read the dead end to find out ...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

You could say that, I guess. It's mostly up to personal interpretation, because there's so much TYPE-MOON material that the borders are rather blurry. But I would indeed suggest to ignore F/sn when reading Tsukihime. The stories are very different. Also, Tsukihime was created first, so while F/sn co...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Actually, the worlds of Tsukihime and F/sn cannot exist together in their natural states. Only through the use of extra-universal bridges (i.e. Ahnenerbe , Carnival Moment , etc...) can people from the different TYPE-MOON sub-universes meet each other. But this is an different topic altogether, and ...

It skips scenes you've already seen. How about you try it?

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Another concern was that the walkthrough (I took a quick peek) says that even using that won't let you see all of the scenes? Does that include CG? Is there any kind of completion meter? Does this predate that kind of convenience? If so, how do you know if you've seen all scenes/if there's anything...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

What do you mean by "atmospheric"? And why not use Tsukibako's track 10? I don't know how Tsukibako's track 10 sounds exactly, but it'll probably be a bit higher quality than the original game's track 10. But you'd need to find a copy of Tsukibako for that, and it's very rare. With atmospheric I me...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Hmm, I see.. I think. The game doesn't have its own actual .exe file? Or is it a function of the translation.. stuff? Jap Tsukihime runs on NScripter, but that doesn't support English very well. That's why we use ONScripter-En. It's the same thing, only better for English. So yeah, Tsukihime doesn'...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

ONScripter is what the game runs on. You could basically rename it to Tsukihime.exe, if that makes it clearer. The newer versions are much more stable and more compatible with modern Windows versions. Our translation ships with an older version, which probably still works fine, but in some cases it ...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Just extract ONScripter-En to the game folder, and run ONScripter-En.exe. Nothing complicated about it.

Or just use the one that ships with our translation. Works fine, on most systems.

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Ah, good point. Ciel-sensei's lessons are indeed a lot of fun to read! Make sure you get at least a few dead ends here and there, just so you can enjoy a few lessons afterwards. Some of them are quite funny. Note however that there is no bonus material after you finish all of the dead ends, so no st...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

You don't really need any dead ends. Most of them involve dying horribly or raping someone into pieces. Not important for the overall plot at all, nothing new is introduced there. Apart from the horrible deaths and pieceraping, anyway. Very little is officially announced regarding the Tsukihime rema...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

:/ the FSN walkthrough I read had a neat feature, it only used a one word excerpt from the choice and then numbered it for good measure (Which I think actually was necessary in one case due to a mistake.) Agreed. I don't think I'll ever get back to change that giant flowchart though. Took way too m...

Re: Newbie questions, please humor me

Tsukihime is actually more complex than F/sn, script-wise. If you want to know exactly how the game behaves, read the flowchart that ships with our translation. If you just want a list of options to choose to get to the ending as fast as possible, read the walkthrough that ships with our translation...
